That one exception

Part 21

((I was a little tired when I wrote this so I'm hoping it makes sense lol))

"Jon..."

"I don't need protecting Vanoss" Delirious interrupted proving he was really annoyed, out of the corner of my eye I saw Evan wince at him using his tag rather than his real name.

"I know...."

"Then what the fuck Vanoss! You think I'm that much of a pussy?" Delirious wasn't giving Evan a chance to speak and I got the impression there was something else on his mind that was annoying him.

"That's not..."

"Don't try and deny it I heard you!"

"Stop being a bitch and let me finish!" Evan raised his voice making him sound like a parent dealing with a kid having a temper tantrum, there was a pause as Delirious folded his arms again and looked expectantly at Evan. "I wasn't asking him to protect you...I was asking him to watch your back"

I watched Delirious as he seemed to deflate and look slightly embarrassed "and you couldn't have done that with me with here?"

"Is that what this is about?...you're jealous that I wanted to talk to Tyler alone?"

"Evan you need to go to the meeting before you're late" I interrupted as I saw a glimpse of the guys getting up from the table and getting ready to leave "if you two want to fight do it in private...later"

They both looked through the open door in the direction I was looking, Evan pulled a face and looked back to Delirious with a mix of irritation, worry and sadness before he turned and headed off to the meeting without saying another word. Delirious seemed to be chewing the inside of his lip as he watched Evan walk away. I will admit that I was more than a little annoyed with how Delirious had acted toward Evan, if it was jealousy he should have just said rather than make an already anxious guy feel like an ass for caring. I quickly grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled pretty hard to make him turn to face me.

"How would you feel if you thought that you were going to lose him because you can't be by his side?...He's scared Delirious, cut him some slack" I was so annoyed that I was talking through my teeth, the second I finished hissing at him I pushed him so that he'd move in front of me towards the door to meet the guys as they came out. Delirious looked like he was regretting what he'd said to Evan, he didn't resist when I pushed him forward or say anything in his own defence. He straightened his shirt seconds before the others came out of the bar, Mini flashed me a look I couldn't quite read before he turned his back on me and fell into step with Delirious as we all headed down the street heading for the club, Lui taking the lead as normal. Mini was almost directly in front of me, if he stopped or hesitated I would have bumped into him and part of me was wishing that he would, my hands were itching to get hold of him again and it was becoming extremely distracting. The problem was that Brock was walking next to me, almost stepping on Delirious' heels as he talked to me about editing software and different ways of using it. It meant that I had to be very careful of how long and how often I looked at Mini, which was harder than it sounds as my eyes seemed to be naturally drawn to every movement he made.

I caught hold of Delirious' before we got into the Noisiest part of the club and pulled him to one side while Mini was in discussion with Brock.

"I need your help... our little princess over there has a habit of giving me the slip, you are the only person in this group who he won't be able to get away from...will you keep an eye on him for me?...I need to know he's safe" I knew I was asking a lot especially as I had told him off only a short while before but he must of heard the desperation in my voice.

"I'll make sure he stays in your line of sight" he chuckled before turning serious and looking around to see who was close "I text Ev' and apologised for what I said earlier, he didn't reply though...do you think he's pissed at me?" there was a nervousness to his voice that I hadn't heard before.

"I think he's in a meeting and will reply when he can"

"I hope you're right" he breathed looking over at the others

"Look on the bright side..." I paused as I leant forward, making sure only he could hear me "if he is pissed you might get a spanking out of it" He looked up at me with the disbelieving look, as if I'd told a joke in bad taste. We both moved to re-join the others in the noisier part of the club

The moment we got into the main club I noticed that Mini and Delirious had hidden themselves in a corner and seemed to be having a rather serious conversation, every now and then Delirious would check his phone and Mini would look around and if he noticed me looking at him he'd fidget and quickly look down at his drink. There was something different to how Mini was acting, I wasn't sure what it was but the look in his eyes when he made eye contact with me had changed and I was finding it annoyingly difficult to put a name to it.

We had been at the club for a couple of hours when I noticed that Mini had moved in front of Delirious and was making frantic gestures with his hands, Delirious was looking past Mini as if he wanted to kill someone on the other side of the room. He side stepped around Mini and started heading across the room, Mini quickly got in front of him again and was obviously trying to calm him down. I quickly looked in the direction he was heading and noticed the biggest of the guys that had attacked Mini in the club that first night. Lui was the closest to me so I grabbed his arm to get his attention and yelled at him to get the guys and get Mini out of the club, Brock was nearby and heard me so he headed straight for Mini. I pushed my way through the crowd to get in between the guy and where Mini and Delirious were. A few moments later Brock appeared beside Mini and put his hand on his shoulder, the second's distraction was all Delirious needed to get past Mini and land a punch that put the guy on his ass, only a second before I managed to get in front of him and push him backwards using my body as a blockade.

He kept trying to get around me shouting warnings at the guy who was still on the floor, I was able to get one arm around his ribs and half push and half carry him back towards the exit. I saw that Lui, Brock, and Nogla had surrounded Mini and were ushering him out of the door, Cartoonz was making his way over to where I was struggling to keep hold of Delirious. I heard someone shouting behind me followed by some very aggressive swearing from Delirious as his struggling became more violent.

"Get him out of here!" Cartoonz shouted over the music as he pushed past us.
