*Michael's POV*

There stood Aubrey Chambers, right in front of me. I'm still pissed at her for this morning, but considering she's never really apologised before for her well...being herself I think I might hear her out. This would have to be the first time she'll be nice to me. Oh I've gotta see this!

"Alright, come in" I stand aside to let her in. She walks in and looks around then sits on the couch in my living room.

"You have really made this place look nice considering you've only been here for just over 24 hours" She says while looking at me with a small smile. Holy crap, she smile genuinely this is new to me. I know I'm acting like a smart ass but she really grinded my gears.

"Thank you" I say without changing my facial expression. Enough small talk. "So what is it you wanted to explain to me?"

"Well...we didn't get off to a great start." She starts explaining. You bet your ass we didn't.

"I've recently gotten out of college and I've been trying my hardest to get into an internship at a hospital. I've had no luck until yesterday. I got the internship yesterday and I was trying to de-stress yesterday afternoon. Hence why I went off at you for mowing your lawn so late. And I went off at you about your dog too which I deeply apologise for as well. I don't know why I acted the way I did I just felt nervous about my first day today and I took it out on you and it wasn't fair. And for that I am deeply, deeply sorry Michael." She lets out a sigh she looked like she had been holding in since she first saw me.

"No it wasn't fair" I sigh, I look at her to see she's looking down at the ground, I can tell she's genuinely ashamed of her actions towards me. I've had my fun now, the girl is sorry.

"I know. I'm sorry" She says softly still staring at the ground. Aw hell. I go and sit beside her on the couch, I lift her chin to face me.

"Apology accepted. And I apologise for leaving you on he side of the road this morning. You just hit my last nerve. I know you stress and you're so young and working so hard to get into the career you want, but people are doing just as tough or even worse than you. If you would have told me what was going on I would have understood the way you were acting." I couldn't help but smile, she was finally being nice to me.

"Maybe we can start over" She suggests, a smile playing on her lips. I got distracted for a moment just staring at her lips, but I shrugged it off and cleared my throat.

"Yes that sounds great! How about this? You go get relaxed at home and I'll cook dinner here and bring it over?" I ask while looking at her.

"Sure that sounds wonderful" She smiles and then gets up, "I'm glad we had this talk Michael, I'll see you soon." And with that she went back to her own home.

I'm still sitting here shocked at the fact underneath all that sass there's a nice and beautiful young woman underneath. I got up to changed into a long sleeved blue button up shirt tucked into black slacks. I tie back my black curly hair into a ponytail. I quickly jog back downstairs to check on the dinner I had in the oven. I've just decided on lasagne. Once it's finished I take it out and let cool for a bit. While I'm letting it cool I grab a bottle of wine from my cellar, I gather everything up in a basket and make my way over to her place. I softly knock.

"Come in! It's open" I hear Aubrey call out. So I did exactly that. I walk in to see she's set up a picnic blanket on the floor in the living room with candles everywhere and plates set up.

"What's all this?" I couldn't help but smile, she was actually trying to make us work. I set the food and wine down on the blanket.

"We both had a big day so why not have dinner and wine while watching a movie?" She smiles.

"Sounds like a perfect night to me!" I sit down on a cushion and she sits beside me. Aubrey serves some of the dinner I made and we start eating. She puts on the movie Bad Boys 1. I love that movie, and right now I'm loving her company. Throughout the movie we talk to each other and get to know one another better. This is so much better than having a screaming match at each other.

"Dinner was so nice. Thank you for that" She says while sipping on her wine.

"Of course. It was my pleasure" I reply with a smile. She smiles back at me. I have this funny feeling in my chest, my heart starts to pound everytime I make eye contact with her or when she smiles at me. Oh god, don't tell me I'm starting to develop feelings for my neighbour.

"It's getting late so I think we should clean up and go our seperate ways. We both have work tomorrow." She sighs, knowing that I know she doesn't want tonight to end, neither do I. I help her clean up and she walks me out to her front porch. She turns to me and smiles.

"Tonight was fun. Thank you and thank you for giving me a chance to explain my behaviour earlier. I wasn't expecting you to give me a chance" She confesses, is she blushing?

"It's okay. I'm not a total asshole." I grin which causes her to laugh. Oh my, I've never heard her laugh before and it's so cute!

"I know. You're not an asshole at all. I was the one acting like the wicked witch. Anyway thank you again for tonight." She leans in to kiss me on the cheek. I blush like mad.

"You're welcome. Anytime you want company or someone to talk to I'm here. But I think I'll pass on yelling matches from now on" I giggle before returning a kiss on her cheek but she turned her head and my lips landed on hers. I quickly pulled back and gasped. She did the same.

"Um, goodnight, Aubrey." I quickly say and go back to my house practically running. I put everything in the kitchen and walk up to my room practically throwing myself on the bed. I groan into my pillow.

"Real smooth Jackson. The girl started being nice to you and you try to get to third base with her after knowing her for just over 24 hours" I say out loud to myself. God I'm an idiot. I don't know how to act around her now.
