A week has passed after I had a fever. I have been absent on the day they had a quiz so I asked Ranielle to teach me Calculus. It’s as bloody as hell! But still, she teaches well so I was able to survive that quiz. I got a ten out of twenty items. Fifty- fifty.  At least I made it halfway. I’m grateful to her so I treated her snacks on the cafeteria.

During our Math class, my phone vibrated. Since I’m used to sneaking it behind the teacher’s back when I was a first year student, I simply sneaked on it again to see who disrupted my wild imagination on Ian Somerhalder. He is so hot, isn’t he? Heh. But shock was painted on my face when I saw who texted- my sister.

“Hey sis! Come home early. Dad will be returning from abroad. Love you.”

I mean really?! He’s here?! In the Philippines? I smiled widely, grinning like an idiot. How I’ve missed him so much. I wonder what he looks like now. Is he fat? Is he bald? Does he still have teeth? Not like he’s that old already but it’s been so many years since I last saw him. The past two years he wasn’t able to send us pictures because he is quite busy with work. Hmm. I hope class will be dismissed already so I can go home. What if I just ditch and get out of here? Nah, just kidding. And again, my jam packed thoughts were disturbed when an annoying voice shouted towards me. It wasn’t annoying after all; it was my teacher calling my attention. Peace out! Hehe.

“Ms. Ross, care to share what’s on your mind right now? It looks like you’re daydreaming, again.” Our teacher scolded. Since I’m retarded, I remembered Facebook when you share a status and it asks, “What’s on your mind?” But I’m not in the mood to be sent to detention or to the guidance office so I just said, “I’m sorry sir. I still don’t feel well.” I lied. LOL. I’m a great pretender. Heh. “Oh, ok. Just listen quietly to my lecture, Juliet.” “Yes, sir.”

Before he left, he gave us a reminder, “Ok, class. Tomorrow is family day. Bring your parents so that you can have a fun time with them. There will be a mass at 8 in the morning, games in the afternoon and Bingo and Raffle Draws at about 4 P.M. Goodbye class.” This family Day is such a great timing! Good thing my dad came home, I’ll bring my family tomorrow. I’m so excited. Hihi. On my first year’s family day, I only brought my sister along because I started to be independent in a way that I don’t always bring my mother to my school, since it takes two rides to get there. It is so not like my elementary school which is just a few steps from our house. Since I don’t want her to spend 14php just to go to our school, I didn’t bother inviting her at all. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not a rebel. I’m just, thrifty, I guess.

After classes were dismissed, I went straight at home. When I arrived, I saw my dad. Yehey! He is still chubby, but he got quite bald. But he’s still my cute, loving dad! I missed him so much. And I will never get tired of saying that. I ran towards him and gave him a great, big hug. “Hey, dad! I missed you so much! How are you? Hihi. I love you dad!”

“Hello, baby. I missed you so, so much. Dad is fine. I just need to rest for a while, okay? I brought chocolates. Better eat it fast, baby.” Weee, I am madly in love with chocolates! That’s what I usually look for when my relatives come home from abroad. Delish! Hihi. I let him relax while I pawn on Hershey’s, Toblerone, Mars, and Ferrero. I ate a lot. And I’m not on a diet right now because I believe that there is no such word as “DIET” when it comes to “FREE FOOD.” Haha. But of all the presents my dad brought, his presence is the one I appreciated the most.

We ate dinner altogether. I’m so happy, but I didn’t show it anymore. Since we are all taking non- stop, it got hard for me to butt in about the Family Day. When I got the chance to say it, my father said, “Sure, baby. We’ll all go.” A huge smile formed on my face. Can this day get any better? Hihi. I am definitely the most excited person for tomorrow that I couldn’t sleep early. It was already midnight when I finally fell asleep. I woke up at 3 in the morning. Wow. I decided to drink water because I got very thirsty. But as I walked around the house, there were no sight of my father. I saw my brother in the kitchen so I asked, “Hey, where’s dad?” He answered, “He’s in the hospital. He’ll undergo an operation to uh, fix something on his liver. Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. Just go to sleep, Juliet. You have to get ready for school tomorrow. I mean later.” And with that I went back to bed. Hmm. I guess Family Day this year will suck. Big time.
