She was pretty, in the perfect lighting, I'll give her that. I'd seen her only a couple of times but I knew some stuff about her. Her name was Bria, she was a junior, she had Spanish with Shawn, she was super smart, and she was an extreme feminist. She had a nice body, but she didn't wear bikinis. Why expose yourself for male pleasure? She made me feel like a hoe, and I'd never slept around. Imagine how she made actual hoes feel. She wore a one piece suit with a swim skirt. Her hair was pulled up into a loose bun. I wasn't threatened by her at first. Shawn was my boyfriend, and everyone knew that. I'd hear things about people saying I didn't deserve him but it didn't bother me because get over it he's my boyfriend.
She was talking to her feminist friends who's one pieces were riding up their asses as they yelled about wanting to be respected. Then as they talked about how the idea of dating a high school boy was ridiculous Bria got up and walked towards me. I panicked, did she notice I was staring at her? Then she walked in front of me and into the house. I sat up more and pulled my bikini top up. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a drink. Then I saw Shawn go into the kitchen and then I panicked more. She said hi to him and they started talking. Then I was stressed. I got up, slow, and tried to collect myself. He was laughing and smiling the way he did at the game three months ago. He looked at her like he first looked at me. I was on the verge of screaming when I realized I could subtly let her know he wasn't available and remind him he loved me. I walked calmly to the house and into the kitchen.
"Hi, babe," I said sweetly walking up behind him. He was startled a little bit but then he kissed me and said hi. She looked a little insulted and then she smirked a little bit and leaned on her left leg.
"You must be Alaina," she said confidently. I smiled and nodded.
"Yep, and you are..?" I pretended not to know her name so that she knew that if he had talked about knowing me to her that he hadn't talked about her to me. Then I saw her roll her eyes a bit.
"I'm Bria," she answered, even more irritated. Why was I proud to be working up her anger? I smiled again and then kissed Shawn's cheek.
"I'm going to hop in the pool, okay?"
"Just wait, I'll come with you. See you later, Bria." Then he picked me up and slung me over his shoulder. I was starting to feel better. We got in the pool and were laughing and kissing just like our first night together. Then she jumped in with her femmies. They were splashing and giggling and they slowly kept getting closer. Then Shawn smiled and splashed Bria and they started splashing each other and it was all wrong. I was so angry I climbed out of the pool, grabbed my towel, and left. Shawn didn't even notice as I drove off. I walked into my house to find my parents screaming at each other. I tried to walk past to my room but my mom stopped me.
"Alaina, come here!" I went to them. "Where the hell were you? With Shawn again? I swear Alaina if you spent some time apart from that boy, you'd be-"
"Home, right now. Like I am? Yeah look he's not with me, I'm home, I just want to go to bed."
"Don't you dare pull that attitude with me-"
"Well, I wonder where she gets it from?!" my dad screamed. As they began arguing again I finally made it to my room. I cried for hours. Then my phone buzzed.
*look out your window, love :) -Shawnie* I sighed and looked outside. He was shivering on my back patio. I climbed out my window in my sweat pants and t-shirt(without a bra!!) and refrained from smiling.
"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked shaking more. I didn't answer. "C'mon I'm sorry I didn't notice but Bria was-"
"How'd you get here? Your car is broken down." I said, cold.
"Bria dropped me off. You have to see her car, it's so cool!!!" I scoffed.
"So, have fun in her car?" I asked even more cold.
"Alaina, what do you-"
"Whatever, I'm tired. I'll text you tomorrow." I turned to go inside but he ran up behind me and turned me around and kissed me. He was dripping and cold. I pulled away and said good night and climbed back into my room. Why the hell would she drive him here? Was she actually in my driveway waiting to take him home? Hoe.
