This is a continuation of the Weekend Writing Prompt. Feel free to go back and complete it if you haven't already.
Once upon a time, there was a husband, a wife and a son, who all live peacefully in a completely egalitarian society. In this society no one is valued more than anyone else. In fact, individuals with above-average intelligence or great athleticism are given handicaps in order to make them equal to everyone else. But one day something goes terribly wrong. The son, who is a genius and athlete, is taken away by the government and given handicaps of his own, just to ensure that the society remains equal.
