Chapter 18:
.:Jack:.
Two days.
Two bloody days and we've had no sign of her.
We've been searching high and low for her and nothing. Zilch.
Molly has just vanished off the face of the earth and the only name we have is 'Joseph'. No last or middle name, no age, no height, weight or anything to do with appearance. Only one name. And it doesn't ring a bell for any of us.
Silas is getting more and more frantic now.
He's been the most active in the search for her. Checking, double checking, sometimes even triple checking areas. Seeing if he's missed maybe even one measly metre...
He's obsessive about it actually.
I just make rounds with Griffin.
Sprint through all the streets, trying to get her scent on the wind...on anything really.
I don't know why they took her.
Whether they were trying to hurt her, or trying to hurt us...none of us have any clue.
We're all sitting in her apartment at the moment, waiting for Silas to return.
"How about we play cards?"
As we've been sitting in total lack of sound for the last three hours or so. This proposal, this sudden burst of noise...it gives me a fright.
Jumping slightly, I glare over at Hansen who is snickering at me, "Alright. What do you want to play?"
"Something hard. Something I can whip your ass at." He chuckles.
I grin, "You can choose and by the way. The only way you're going to be whipping my ass, is-"
"Don't!" Nick warns me, "Jack...that's innapropriate."
I roll my eyes, "Buzz kill."
Hansen grabs out the deck of cards and shuffles them expertly, "How about...snap?"
My eyes widen, "Snap? But...but you know we're not allowe-"
He cuts me off, "But Serenia's not here now is she?"
Shaking my head, I take a deep breath, "Okay then..."
He hands me half the pack.
Snap is the only card game we have never EVER been allowed to play. Not since the incident in 64. I shudder at the thought.
He puts down the first card. I put down the second.
We continue like this until I set a queen down beside his queen.
Glancing up at each other, our hands slam down to get to it first, "SNAP!"
CRACK!
The table splits in two.
He grins at me, "It's only a table...now. How about for money?"
Laughing, I grab my wallet out, "Deal. Now gimme the cards."

Trudging into the apartment, I gaze around in shock at the mess they've made of it.
Nothing, I repeat NOTHING is intact.
Every single piece of furniture is destroyed beyond recognition.
Kneeling down, I pick up a piece of what could be a fragment of the fridge door, or the bathroom sink.
