11/Summer

Mia's pov
Today is the last day of school
And I'm so excited honestly my life has been great.
I've gotten close with this girl in my algebra class Nessa and she's really funny and great
My dad has came to visit me more often and he gave me more money because he "forgot what a shit hole this neighborhood was"
But I haven't been talking to Carl but I don't care for him that much
We've tried talking after our fight but it wasn't the same so we just have up
But enough of that its the last day of school!!

I hear my alarm going off signaling I have to wake up.
I woke up as soon as I heard it I was so excited for today
I went straight to the bathroom to shower and straighten my hair
I put on the outfit in the picture
And did my makeup which consisted of concealer highlighter and Chapstick and mascara
I put my straight hair that was now down to my mid back behind my ears and went downstairs.i grabbed my book bag and headed outside into the heat
The school bus was a block away from my stop so I started running and I thought I wouldn't make it until I saw Carl,he barely ever goes on the bus anymore.
I finally got to the bus out of breath and saw that Carl had told the bus man to wait for me
So I had to thank him
"Thanks Carl" I said Turing my back immediately after I said that
"No problem"Carl said following behind me
"Hey Mia over here"Nessa called
"Hey"I said throwing my backpack on the floor

I went to the auditorium because that's where  we're gonna stay for the 3 hours of our school day.
I walked into the gym and glanced around till I saw Nessa waving at me
I laughed at how short she was and how hard she was trying to get noticed.
I walked over to her ignoring the catcalls from the seniors,
I instantly regretted wearing shorts
"Dam babe you look good" a familiar voice echoed behind me.
He used to come into the laundromat a lot
I turned around to see A boy smirking and earning high fives and chuckles from his stupid friends including Carl
I just furrowed my eyebrows and pulled my shorts down
"What a bitch can't even say thank you"Carls friend Gabe said a little lower than the cat call was
My face just turned red so I sped up to the bleachers
"Hey girl what's wrong" Nessa said noticing my red face
"Those assholes were catcalling me" I said sitting down
"Well Carl can't seem to stop staring here, so I'm guessing it was him"Nessa said glancing over my shoulder
I turned around and made eye contact with Carl
He shot me a quick wink before Turing around
"Did he really just do that, after what he told you"Nessa said getting pissed
"Probably winking at you"I said thinking about Carl
"Yea oka-"Nessa tried to say before getting cut off by the principal on the loudspeaker
"Okay students so today is your last day before summer vacation and in order to receive your report cards you must line up alphabetically and walk up to the front of the auditorium after you get this you are free to leave"mr.H left the podium and the students began filing into a messy line
"Bye babe" Nessa said hugging me and going to the front of the line considering her last name was "abler"
I walked to the beginningish part of the line.
With my luck I was right behind Carl
"Hey Mia"Carl said
"Hi?" I said almost as a question
"What's your deal you haven't been talking to me"Carl said licking his lips at the end of his sentence
"Yea I've been ignoring you,maybe if you cared you would've noticed sooner"I said fully turned around now
"What do you mean"Carl said looking extremely confused
I just ignored him and unlocked my phone and went on Instagram
I was looking threw my feed when I noticed I had 3 unopened Dms
They were all from Carl's Instagram
They were just commenting on my pictures.
I have to admit I miss him a lot.but he hurt me
But everyone deserves second chances so.
I turned around to see Carl staring at me
"So any plans for the summer"
"No what about you" Carl said surprisedI was talking to him
"Nothing really, maybe the school camping trip"I said
"I might go Gabe is going"Carl said looking cute as always
"Oh that would be cool you should text me if your going"I said playing with my hair
"If you unblock my number, I will"Carl said
"Sorry about that"I said trying to laugh it off with my red face
"Next" I heard the main office lady shout from her mini desk
I walked up to her and grappled my report card and schedule for net year
I went straight outside and looked for Nessa
I waited five minutes before I thought about calling her
I put my phone on and saw she texted me

Nessa👭💗:hey my grandma picked me up and we were gonna wait for you to come out but the security guard kicked us out.sorry babe.
Mia:it's fine💓
I shut my phone off and began walking to the train before I heard someone calling after me
"Mia wait"
I turned around to see Carl running up to me
"Hey babe" he said out of breath
"Hi"I said laughing at him
"Wanna go home together"Carl said looking at his phone
"Yea wanna take the train?" I said
"I got a ride for us" Carl said locking his phone and putting it in his pocket
After 10 minutes of Talking a black Range Rover pulled up
"Who's that" i said looking at the fancy car
"It's my friend G dog"Carl said walking to the Carl
My heart dropped when he said that, g dog was a drug dealer.
I was scared to go in but too scared not to
Carl opened the door for me and I got in first
G dog looked me up and down
I felt discusted
Carl got I after me
"Thanks for picking us up"Carl said doing a nodding thing with his head at g dog
"Is that your girl"g dog said biting his lower lip
Without hesitation Carl said "yea" putting his arm around me
I was glad because wasn't it like "bro code" to not like your friends "girl"
By the time we got in front of our house it was 12:45

We got out and I watched the car drive off
"What was wrong with you"Carl said looking into my eyes
"Nothing I just felt weird" I said smiling a little bit
"Oh okay, wanna come over?"carl asked
"Yea ill meet you at your house I'm just gonna shower and change into something more comfortable.
