"Hey~ it's been so long since we last saw you. Wanna meet up today?"
Sophie looked at her phone and at the message. Indeed it's been a long time.

"Sure! Be there in a minute or two!", she replies before grabbing her coat and heading out her apartment.
It's still 8pm but the streets of their neighborhood is always dull. She looks at the dark sky above her. It's odd how the rain suddenly stopped, as if it received a signal, when she headed out. The air was cold and she clutched her coat closer to her.

Knowing she'll be seeing them today, her heart began to race. She was excited, yes. But she was frightened too. To see the same faces, but not know the same people she used to know. Or frightened that they forgot who she is.

She hopped on the bus and looked out the window. She's meeting them again after a long time but her heart is sinking in her chest. Suddenly, pictures come flashing in her head. Telling her that she had to go. She has to see what happened to it. She has to return. So she decided to stop by their old house.

Sophie opened the gates of the house and it produced a small creak. It hasn't been that long but the iron gates were already rusting. The grass grew almost up to her knees and the garden has turned into a lifeless peace of dry land.

There wasn't much to see, and it's pretty much the same. Except the paint's coming off the walls. She wanted to go in and open the door and see what happened inside. But the door would most probably be locked. She sat down on a patch of grass and sighed. So many things had happened in such a short time. The year she spent felt like a month. And the more she thought about it, the more she missed it. She won't have any more of these. She can't have it. Tears start to pool in her eyes and she hastily wiped it away.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid...", she says as she tries to control her tears. But the memories won't go away and one by one they come back to her. Clearer, more vivid and more alive. She broke into a sob, finally giving in. She missed it. She missed every single thing. But most of all, she missed THEM.

As she was standing up to finally leave, she hears a familiar voice call her name.

"Sophie..?"

She turns around and sees a familiar face.

The face she loved the most.
