Just a real quick note, this chapter will be graphic, and will be taking a head first dive into very mature, and triggering topics like abuse, etc. I would say skip it, but this is pretty important to the story, so if it's going to bother you, it's probably best you stop reading.
Continue on.

Elliott's POV;
I stood rooted to the spot, I couldn't move. I was hallucinating. I had to be. She couldn't be real, couldn't be here. How would she know where I was?
She closed the space between us and put her hand on my shoulder, and I flinched, instinctively moving away. This isn't a hallucination..
She feigned a look of hurt.
I know she faked it. She's not capable of feeling emotions like that, not anymore. She's a monster, nothing can change that.
"Dear why do you treat me like that?" She looked over to the security guard. "Could you please leave us alone for a moment? I'd like to talk to my daughter in private."
I begged and begged in my mind, with my eyes, but he didn't seem to notice. He nodded and left, shutting the door behind him.
As soon as the door was shut, she wrapped her fingers around my throat, pushing me into the wall.
"You little fucking bitch, did you really think you could escape?" She hissed in my ear, putting more pressure on my throat. It was getting hard to breathe.
"I should have killed you when I had the chance."
I tried to choke out a call for help, but nothing came out. She tightened her hold until no air was coming in or going out. The room was starting to spin.
I released her hands, which I had been trying to pry off of my neck, and did the first thing I could think of. I dug my nails into her face, and tore them down her cheek hard enough that it would no doubt leave a scar.
Suddenly air filled my lungs, but the corners of my vision were darkening. She stumbled back, holding her face. That's the first time I've ever defended myself against her.
I fell heavily to the ground, and screamed as loud as I could, which wasn't much, but it was enough for someone in the hall to hear because I soon heard footsteps. They began banging on the door, which I didn't realize was locked until now.
She obviously heard them too, and looked down at me.
"This isn't over."
She turned quickly, sprinting to the emergency exit.
"Get out of the way!" I heard somebody shout, and the last thing I saw was the door fly open, and a blurry shape run to me.
Then it was dark.

My dad and I left the diner, his hand holding mine as we walked to our car singing a Bohemian Rhapsody. He helped me up into my seat, and he climbed into his, starting up the vehicle.
I sat in the seat behind him, playing with my stuffed cat that he had given me for my 4th birthday. I was 7 now.
"Daddy, can you put on Queen?" I asked quietly, but he had heard me.
"Of course beautiful." He glanced over to the passenger seat, and reached for the cd case, wrapping his fingers around it. He looked back to the road, and panic filled his eyes as the big truck collided with our car.
