"You- God, I can't hire you!" I spoke, my brain finally cohering a sentence.

"Well ya already did, hot shot. Probably should'a waited to sign the papers 'til ya met me." She smirked, flicking brunette and bronze strands over her shoulder.

"For the only time in my life, I think I'm gonna agree with you." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Oh come on, first impressions aren't everything, Shawn. In fact, I can walk out of here and forget this ever happened, and I can just show up - appropriately of course, I am being paid here - to your event. Sound good?"

"Yes. That actually would make everything a lot better." I stated with a small grateful smile. She shot me one back, sitting back down, crossing her legs, and resting her hands on her knee caps.

"Good. Shame that I'm not going to. In fact, I'm going to prove you wrong about not being able to hire me." She smirked, standing back up, and getting up in my face. "And I'm gonna be the best girlfriend you never had."

I hadn't talked to Samantha since then despite the 'complimentary lunch' we were scheduled to have - that I didn't bother going to only because I knew she wouldn't be there.  It was now the afternoon of the event, and I sat with my legs spread, leaning on them, running my hands over my face. My dad was coming with me, and he was being informed of my 'date'. Of course this girl would be meeting my dad the first time I ever brought her out into the public eye. Sighing I stood up as my dad looked at me. "It was Andrew's idea. I swear." He simply sighed and put a hand on my back.

"Is she a looker at least?" He asked, a tone of humor coming off with the words. I was able to smile softly, snorting even.

"Yeah. Yeah she is. Not gonna lie." I chuckled as we walked to the limousine that pulled up to the building. Samantha had been picked up, and this would be the first time I saw her since her, legendary to say the least, first impression. I climbed in first, only to meet eyes with the familiar blue ones that were owned by the 'lovely' escort Andrew had paid for. Before I could say anything, a smile erupted on her face, and she partially squealed.

"Shawn! It's so nice to see you!" She smiled and I knew I had to act friendly around her in front of my dad, and act like I was into her in front of cameras. So might as well bullshit it now. So with a quick kiss of the cheek I greeted her, and formally introduced her to my father.

"Dad, this is Samantha."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Mendes."

"Pleasure to meet you, Samantha." He smiled and I was about to hesitate in allowing him to continue speaking, since he knew she was hired and conversation wasn't necessary. Yet they kept speaking about things, and sparked interest over my career. It was weird because the girl had clearly done her research to prepare for tonight. Once she seemed to spew her Wikipedia worthy information at my father she turned to me. "This is our fourth date, I was born March 12th, 1998, my favorite song of all time is Won't Go Home Without You by Maroon 5, my mother's name is Felicity and my father's is Grant. I have a sister name Julie, and a dog named Skye. I'm telling you all this because you're gonna need to help me make up stories when we're talking to people. My best friend's name is Sadie, and I work as an intern for an interior designer, which is how we met, when you went to get your apartment in LA designed properly. Got it?" She asked, with a ginger smile filling up her face. It was incredible that she was able to give me this information in a proper manner, without any other explanation.

"Ugh, yeah, I think so." I nodded slowly, trying to take in all the information that had been shot at me. Before I knew it, we were at the T-Mobile Stadium, and I was climbing out, my dad getting out last, only to disappear into the building. I helped Samantha out, actually finding a smile of excitement on my face as I wrapped a relaxed arm around her waist. I needed to make this as believable as possible, and I felt like I was doing good so far. Sam had something, and I leaned in a little more to hear her. "What?"
