Diabetes! Obviously! Have you read the title?

No, No. It's Ok. You'll be asking what it's about "specifically". Let me tell you...

I have been living with a condition called Type 1 Diabetes since I was 12. I only got diagnosed with this 3 days after my twelfth birthday. Not exactly the best late birthday present.

Like "Oh! You got a late birthday present! It's Diabetes! Because even though it's your birthday and your going through a lot of changes to your body already because of puberty, lets fuck your life up even more! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!"

Anyway, before you say "That's what you get if your fat or if you eat too much sugar, right?"

WRONG!

That's Type 2 Diabetes. And I want to make that clear right now as many people mistake it for Type 1.

The truth is, no one knows what causes Type 1 Diabetes. Somehow, some day, your pancreas, an organ in your body, stops producing insulin. What is insulin? Insulin is a clear liquid which is released from the pancreas when we have sugar in our blood after eating. The insulin carries it around the body to turn it into energy and starch and other shit for the body. But not all of it as believe it or not, we actually need some sugar in our blood to keep us alive.

And no, diabetes isn't curable. I'm stuck with it for the rest of my life and this year, of 2016, will mark the 6th year that I will have discovered I had this stupid condition.

So I've decided to share my stories and share some facts about what life is like living with diabetes.

Everything you read is based on the truth and even though it's a bit of a late warning, be prepared for some language. My dad sometimes says to me "I'm sure you have Tourette's, young lady"

Also, as I warned before in the info section of this story, this will contain as well as language, sex and some upsetting chapters. But I'll give you a little warning before hand...

If you see this symbol "⚠️" next to the name of the chapter, it means it contains sex or it can be an upsetting chapter for some readers. Obviously, I think every single chapter will have language in it.

Anyway, let's get on with this book and talk more about Diabetes.

And Why it SUCKS!
