XXII.-Wet-

"What???"

In order for her Mum to stop abusing his cheeks , she had to pull her away. "he looks exactly like him" her Mum whispered. "Because he's his son ... okay? now zip your pants up again" she replied. 

"Wait .... i thought you rejected him?" Austin then asked her. 

"We settled it on the rooftop" Richard replied. The lad then moved next to Maine and held her hand. Her heart started slowing down the moment he did that. She then looked at him and knew something had changed. 

"What? That doesn't make any sense ... I just talked to you the other day"

"Well I lied! I'm sorry Austin .. but he is my boyfriend"

"What the hell is going in here?" a bellowing voice asked. The entire group turned around and saw a very attractive man in a suit. Maine's heart dropped ... her mother is right ... Richard's Dad is just an older version of him. 

"Dad?" Richard asked.

"What the hell" that's all Richard can say as he and Maine wait outside his office because their parents are talking to each other. It looks their families are much closer than they think. 

He also kept on glancing on his left, Austin is glaring at them. Even when Richard is not looking, he can feel it ... he can feel his stare. 

"Your family is rich? Why don't I know about that?" he asked her. 

"It's because I didn't want you to know ... I've been trying to run away form them for obvious reasons" she replied while biting the tip of her nails. "I will help you , don't worry" he assured. A few more minutes later , her mother walked out. 

"How's everything?" Maine asked. 

"Everything's good ... we'll talk later hun .. see you around" she replied. "Weird" he thought to himself as he saw Maine follow her mother towards the elevator. 

"Is she really your girlfriend?" his Dad then asked him. 

"What? ... um ... yeah" he replied even if she really isn't. 

"Good ... don't ever let her go"

Later that day , Richard offered to drive her home. Maine didn't want to but agreed anyway since ohe insisted. 

"Shit , do you have an umbrella?" Maine then asked Richard after the heavy rain started pouring. "Nope" he replied. "I'll just wing it" she then replied before putting her suitcase at the top of her head. 

"Do you wanna have coffee first or do you wanna go home?" she then asked him. 

"Coffee" he replied. 

"Are you ready to get drenched?" 

"Yes"

The two then counted to three. As soon as they reached that , they ran out of the car and braved the heavy downpour. They made it to the lobby ... but they are dripping wet. Richard then helped Maine get up to her unit. As soon as they got there , they immediately let out a sigh of relief. 

"Well, that was fun" Richard commented while trying to catch his breath. 

"It is" she replied. 

Maine then saw Richard started to unbutton his shirt , and so she protested about it. 

"What the hell are you doing?" she asked. 

"You don't want me to get sick do you?" he asked.
