The one that changed everything

My father died only a couple years back. I still grieve to this day. Sometimes I wish it would have been me that was killed. If I had just accepted the fate of our world... None of this grieving would have happened. If I wasn't in my room that day my uncle broke into our home....I SHOULD HAVE PROTECTED THEM. I WAS STRONG ENOUGH. I COULD HAVE TAKEN HIM DOWN HAD I BEEN THERE. Its... just not fair....Lily,..Lucy,..Mom....Dad... they're all DEAD because of ME. I used to wish it would all just..end. At least, until I met HIM. He was the only one there for me. He could understand  what I was going through. His parents and brother had been killed in a society made for survivors . They used to help people-tried to give them homes where they could survive and be safe. But now..... They just kill. Steven was lucky to be able to escape. His family however, wasn't as lucky. Their throats were slit one by one. Stevens older brother,Jackson, sacrificed himself to save him. I'm just glad he was there for me when i needed him. He was the one that talked me out of tying the rope hanging from the ceiling around my neck...
