“Dude, come on. It’s been like what, 6 months since you dumped Amber?” Brian said.

We were all sitting in Matt’s house having a beer and Brian was insisting we take a trip to the strip club tonight. I rolled my eyes and sunk into the couch.

“So what? That doesn’t mean I need to go to the strip club.” I told him.

Johnny chuckled and sat down across from me.

“Hell yes it does. You need to get drunk and have a good time with a hot girl. And where better to do that than the Playpen.” Johnny said.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

“Okay, you’re right. I could use a good time.” I agreed.

Brian and Johnny slapped hands and Matt shook his head.

“Come on Matt, if I’m going so are you.” I told him.

Matt sighed with a smirked and looked at his phone.

“What the hell. Val’s at her mom’s for the night anyway.” He said.

We cheered and went to our homes to get ready.

“Hello Zachary.” Mrs. Wilder said as I passed her apartment.

I smiled at her and picked up her grocery bag from her arms.

“Hey Mrs. Wilder.” I said back. She smiled at me and opened her apartment door.

“What happened to that girl that used to visit you?” She asked me.

I sighed and set the bag on her counter.

“She moved.” I said with a shrug, like it meant nothing.

Mrs. Wilder shook her head and reached into her purse and pulled out ten dollars.

“That’s too bad. Here Zachary, take this.” She said as she pressed the money into my hand.

I shook my head and tried to give it back.

“Oh no Mrs. Wilder, it’s alright you keep it.” I said to her.

Mrs. Wilder put her hands on her hips and shook her head.

“No, that’s for you honey. You take it now.” She said.

I chuckled and nodded and gave her a hug. When I let her go, she turned her back to put the groceries away so I quietly set the money back on her table before ducking out of the apartment. I took the stairs two at a time and finally got to my apartment. I took my keys from my pocket and opened the door.
