I already knew that. Skylee had talked about a few of the cases she's had since working there, but I wasn't so sure that I myself belonged there.
The man paused briefly to gauge my reaction, then abruptly turned on his heel and motioned to leave. "Anyway, good luck!"
"Hey, wait a second!" I shot straight up from my desk and nearly fell over due to my klutziness as the man turned to leave.
The man paused and turned around to look at me, and he wore an expression on his face that suggested something in his mind just clicked. "Oh, sorry about that. I'm Tadanobu Nomura with the Metro PD." He reached out a hand for me to shake. "Just call me Nomura. Remember that name."
I just shook my head no and held up one finger in my defense. "That wasn't what I was going to..." My words fell on deaf ears as Nomura walked right through my office door and left. "...ask."
I just sighed and went back to gathering up my things, and I grabbed my black trench coat to head home. Did that really just happen...? I'm going to be a real detective and get to work with my best friend again! Yes!

The next day almost didn't come fast enough. I hadn't told Skylee about my transfer last night hoping to surprise her when I came in this morning.
That is...if I can ever get there.
I have a terrible sense of direction, and I have already gotten lost several times trying to find the MPD building.
After two hours or so of looking, I finally stumbled across the sign that read MPD station in front of a large building. Finally! I thought it would take all day to find it...
I sighed as I made my way into the building. I walked right to the elevator, but just as the doors were closing, I saw a man rushing for it, so I quickly held the doors open for him.
"Thank you." He nodded politely, and I gave a small smile back.
The man looked at the buttons, and I guess he's going to the same floor, because he settled against the wall opposite me, and I began to feel that familiar unease as the elevator began to rise.
God how I hated elevators. I would have taken the stairs if my destination wasn't on the freaking seventh floor. As the elevator continued to rise, I gripped the bar on the elevator wall and tried to keep my breathing even. The man seemed to noticed my panic attack as I had become very pale at this point.
"Hey, are you alright?" He leaned over and worriedly checked on me, and his question sounded a little concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine... I just really don't like elevators." I closed my eyes when the elevator came to a stop, and the man gave me a weird look as I suddenly bolted out of the elevator to lean up against the nearest wall.
The man came out after me and looked concerned, yet oddly disturbed by my weird behavior. "Drink some water. It might help you feel better." He suggested politely.
I managed to mutter out a thank you as I tried to calm my racing heart. Regaining my senses, I turned quickly to try and catch the man to ask where Second Unit is, but he was already gone.
"Great..." I grumbled incoherent curses under my breath as I turned a corner and decided to just try and find the stupid office myself.
