I want to dedicate this book to my bestie Serena-Daniels who convinced me to make my random idea into a fanfiction staring the both of us. It's a Metro PD fanfiction and also kind of a w of her book Catch Me If I Fall. Her character Halle is at the top and she's the one who made the cover. I hope you enjoy it Serena!

(Halle's POV)
My name is Halle Mitchell, and I am a simple public safety officer in Japan. Although I love my job, I yearn to be a real detective like my best friend Skylee Simpson. Skylee had just gotten promoted to the Metro PD's second unit about a month ago, and I was happy for my friend, of course, but I missed seeing her bright blue eyes every day. I guess it's nice that we live next to each other, so I still see her often.
Most officers dress boringly for the job, but I just refuse to. I'm five-foot four-inches tall, but my heels make me much taller. I like to look more intimidating on the job. My light, almond-colored hair is cut into a bob that just dusts my shoulders, and it's naturally straight. The cute little white, button-up blouse I'm wearing clings to my figure nicely, and I left it unbuttoned enough to show a good portion of my milky-colored skin that was decorated by a blue amulet strung around my neck. My bright, unnaturally-colored, raspberry eyes shined from behind my short bangs.
As I was packing up to leave for the day, an unfamiliar man stepped into my office and lightly knocked on the doorframe.
"Are you detective Mitchell?"
I just blinked repeatedly in the man's general direction. He was about five-foot ten, and he appeared to be in his early thirties. He was dressed in a warm grey-colored suit with a salmon tie, and he had orange-brown hair that was swept across his forehead to the left. His brown eyes matched the color of his hair and the scruff on his chin, but his smile was kind, which set me at ease.
"Yes, sir." I folded my arms across my chest, studying his face quizzically. Who is this guy? I feel like I've seen him once before somewhere...
Without bothering to introduce himself, he firmly addressed me with some very unexpected information. "You're going to the MPD."
My eyes just went wide in shock as the news registered in my head. "The Metropolitan Police Department?!"
"Yep." His eyes crinkled as he smiled brightly at me, but I was skeptical.
I cautiously drew my head back away from him. "Forgive me, but what do you mean by that?"
His smile fell into a more relaxed expression as he handed me some sort of printed notice. "You're moving to the Metro Police Special Investigations Unit today. Look."
I unfolded the notice and skimmed over it before reading it aloud. "Notice of Personnel Transfer. Detective Halle Mitchell is herby transferred from the West Arai Community Safety Unit to the Metropolitan Police Department, Special Investigations: Second Unit. Effective immediately." I just dropped my jaw in shock and almost glared at him in confusion.
"See?" The man chuckled at me in amusement.
I unconsciously reached up and stressfully grabbed a fist full of my hair on each side. "Transferred? But I haven't heard anything about this---"
Then it hit me: Second unit. That was the unit Skylee was in; Skylee must have put in a word for my transfer or something.
"It's a promotion." The man stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets and smiled. "The guys in Special Investigations are our best and brightest. They go after the big dogs."
