Chapter 1: The Bad Boy Just Kissed My Palm.
Silica's POV

"Can we leave yet?" I plead for the umpteenth time from the couch to Sarah who was currently occupied with the two guys grinding on her back and front, dancing to the music. And by dancing, I really mean jiggling their back up and down like they got ants crawling on them.

Sarah is my pretty best friend whom forced me into this party of some guy from our school I didn't even know. I didn't want to come here and stay up till like three in the morning listening to the sound waves shaking the big house more so than the actual music. Wrestling my way through horny teenagers just to get to a neutral spot where I wasn't constantly being smothered by various guys hitting on me wasn't exactly my idea of spending my Saturday night. Though, Sarah needed a sober driver. Her mom wouldn't let her go without me keeping an eye on her, and my mom thinks I should get to be more social and quote, "Live a regular teenager's life before you get too wrinkly."

In other words, "Stop ruining your eyesight by reading online in the dark and bring some boys home."

Maybe if I hadn't reread all of Rick Riordan, James Patterson, Alex Sanchez, J.K. Rowling, Neal Shusterman, and many of the hundreds of other books I've read in all of my seventeen years, each and all a hundred times, I wouldn't have to always be stuck on Wattpad till five in the morning.

I guess I'm an official bookworm.

"Silica, stop complaining already, would you?" Sarah hollers over the music I wasn't able to distinct, in between her giggles as she holds up her second cup of beer swaying her hips on some different pair of guys now. "We've only been here for two hours!"

Sarah and I have carefree moms--her dad is away in the Navy so he didn't get any say in this. Her mom was only allowing her three beers and I told the guy at the minibar the same thing.

This place has a minibar!

"Where the heck did all the food go..." I whined looking at the snack table which was all but empty except for the red solo cups of either beer or spiked punch, neither going to be put in my system anytime soon.

Sarah looked straight at me and rolled her eyes. "Are you kidding me? Silica, you practically vacuumed that table ten minutes ago."

I shrugged. "They put out Doritos, I come drooling."

"And you're still hungry?"

"I'm always hungry."

Sarah groaned and shook her head at me, her mop of curls, that took her at least an hour doing it at my house, shook in clumps because of the mass of hairspray she had to use so that it wouldn't immediately switch back to straight.

Sarah has always been a beautiful girl. She has straight, blonde hair with glowing green eyes. Her skin is tanned from the constant sun-bathing she does and she stands at a high and proud 5'7". Even though Sarah has nice features for her face, she still enjoys to use makeup. Sarah gets to show off her gorgeously tan legs in the red minidress and red heels, both she bought specially for tonight because she somehow knew I would agree into babysitting her.

I couldn't say I was an eyesore in the least, but standing next to my best friend didn't compare at all.

I can modestly say that I have pretty, nutmeg brown hair that went really wavy at the ends and I was actually grateful to my mother that I had bangs that covered my semi-small forehead. My hair wasn't nearly as long as Sarah's which ended at her waist, while mine stopped before my breasts. I'm a short 5'5" and am only slightly tanned. My eyes look like coal when they're actually just dark brown, and I have small freckles over the bridge of my nose.
