I took a deep breath, before drawing my bow back. A scene spread out in front of my eyes, one that would cause heartbreak for a bunch of families if I didn't act fast. Lining my bow up with the target, I thought about some of the horrible possibilities that could happen. I could miss and the gunman would kill several people, if not all, or I could end up killing him. Without one final thought, I released the string that was being held by my fingers.
Bullseye!
The arrow pierced his hand, causing the gun to spill from his hands. His screams erupted throughout the block, triggering everyone to stare. Once they realized what he was going to do, they became horrified.
I jumped down from the building, and rushed over to the gunman. As I got over to him, I could no longer see the gun I shot out of his hands. The only emotion I could feel rush through my body was panic.
Before I could even understand what had happened, a pistol was shoved into my face. The arrow was still evident in the man's hand, and it appeared obvious that he was in pain, but it wasn't too much to keep him from completing his acts.
The sound of his laugh snapped me back into reality. "You think you can stop me by shooting me in the hand with an arrow? You're just a teenage girl. Don't you have plans with your little boyfriend?"
"I may not be able to stop you with an arrow, but I can stop you by doing this." Without hesitation, my hands gripped his gun, pointing it up quickly, the bullet flying somewhere into the sky. My right leg came up and made contact with his abdomen, a grunt escaping from his lips. Finally able to gain control of the gun, I snatched it from his hands and tossed it towards the concrete sidewalk.
Turning back to the delinquent, I finished him off by jumping around him and onto his back, before doing a front flip over the front of him and bring him to the ground. He let out a couple of moans and groans, and I bent down to his level. The sounds of the police and ambulance sirens grew as they were getting closer.
"Who are you?" The man was hardly understandable, his groans of pain laced in with his voice.
"My names Crimson Arrow and I'm here to save enough people as I can from people like you." I rose up from the ground, hovering over the man. When it was obvious that the police were getting closer, I turned and began to walk away. But, I stopped in my tracks after the words of the man replayed in my head.
"I may be a teenage girl, but I still took you down. Oh and also, I don't have a boyfriend. Nor do I want one." Without turning to give him any sort of last glance, I sprinted off into the city, not wanting to let anyone discover my identity.

"Dad, I'm home!" The sound of the door shutting echoed throughout the house. It was completely silent and a rise of panic shot throughout my body. I walked into the living room, only to see him sprawled out on the couch completely asleep. I was able to take a deep breath, seeing him there safe and sound. "Thank goodness." My voice was only a whisper since I didn't want to awake him. I snatched a blanket from the rack that rested beside the sofa and draped it over his body.
My room was my safe place. It had always been. Especially when my mom died. She died because her passion to save others was more important than her passion to live. It's been two years. I've never fully accepted her death, but I know that she's gone. My dad hasn't really been the same since. My mom and dad were high school sweethearts, so I can understand why.
I picked up the picture of my mom and I that sat on my nightstand. The rustic frame made the picture stand out even more. She was so beautiful. I can only hope that I'll become half the person she is. One day when I die, I want it to be because of saving others. Just like my mom.
