I wake up, early as hell not really excited to go to school. I mean I'm a freshman, not that really matters, but it always sucks being the "fresh meat " at school. Not that anyone actually treated me that way. I was one of the rare freshman's that had all upperclassman friends.
I got to go to the parties, all the same hang outs, and was treated just like an upperclassman. Going to school with rich white boys was interesting because there was always the "untouchable eyecandy", the perks of riding in expensive cars with them to lunch, and even being friends with them.
For some reason, the senior boys had a thing for the freshman girls. I thought that was strange, but hey! Shit happens right?!
Being the freshman that I was, I had been friends with all of the basketball players, and football players, and most of the lacrosse players. That's what happens when you play sports, and so does your brother.
Most of the guys at school I see is brother material, most of us have been friends since we were in the sixth grade. So when I looked at them I might've seen them as cute, or maybe even attractive... But not really wanting them.
Every morning I got to school around the same time. 6:40-6:45. My girls had a table waiting for us that no one had the balls to sit at without our permission. We had our music playing, we talked shit about everything and everyone one. My cousin Myah says "Chica! Looks like there's some new meat gracing us with his presence!! He walks like he think he's the shit!"
"Cállate la boca! Chica de tu locura!" I say
My back is still to the new "fresh meat" as my cousin called him. She knew everyone, so he must have been new.
I feel someone standing behind me, I think it's either Selly, or Erika, because neither of those sluts were at the table yet! But the smell filling my noes was definitely male. The closer he gets, the more the smell wraps around me like a blanket.
"Chica, I know that smell!! Hey little bru-"
I'm cut off by a deep, low pitched laugh.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm definitely not your brother. And right about now I'm happy as hell as I'm not."
"See Tamzyn! Told you this light skin negro though he was the shit! Didn't ask for your name or nothing."
I'm still frozen by the sound of his voice. I have yet to turn around. Myah snaps her fingers infront of my face bringing me back to reality. I finally get the nerve to look at him...
"Damn"
