It's like suddenly, I regained consciousness. I just felt myself, I don't know, wake up. Then I opened my eyes, and realized I wasn't where I was before. I was in a room in a chair. My hands were tied to the arms.
"Hello?" I managed to get out without falling back asleep.
I couldn't see anything in the distance. A candle was sitting on the floor in front of me, lighting the small room up. Or, for all I know, the big room.
"Hello? Is anybody present?"
A man came out from...nowhere.
"Trespasser," he breathed.
"Pardon?"
"You don't belong here. Don't they have rules up in Zarden Village, Elisabeth?"
"How do you know my name?" I nearly stammered asking that.
"I know everything about you-- about Zarden. I established it,"
