I slowly open my eyes, it's blurry and loud.
"Hey, welcome back, kiddo. You have a tube in your throat helping you breathe. You were in a car accident. Can you remember anything?"
I blink rapidly to regain sight, when I do I see a doctor and 3 others in what seems to be a trauma room in a hospital. I open my mouth but the pain of trying to talk feels like knives in my throat. I shut my mouth.
"No, no, just shake your head or nod."
A slight shake of my head brings pain to every inch of my body. I know I'm in a hospital but why? I can't seem to remember much. My name is Spencer, I'm 17, and I know that I'm a girl. How did I end up here? The doctors around me continue assessing me and talking amongst themselves.
"Young girl, came in about an hour ago, massive abdominal injuries and possible spinal injuries. As well as a broken arm and leg"
"Any personal information? License, phone, wallet?"
"She was in an accident, impaired driver t-boned the car on the passenger's side, where she was. Young man was driving the car she was in. They're both drunk and have Tobacco in their systems. He's stable and says her name is Spencer Terry and they were at a party, police are questioning him as we speak."
"Pour kid. She needs a CT and an X-Ray of her legs and arms."
I slowly float out of consciousness.
