She laughed and sat back, allowing me to sit up. I gingerly rubbed the sore spot on my neck. She began to root around in her bag, then handed me a plaster.
"Uh, thanks."
"I pride myself on being as gentle as possible."
She was my roommate. I always wondered about her talent to pull all-nighters so easily and sleep so soundly during the day.
"I'm a vampire." She told me with a straight face. I thought she was having me on.
"Hey! I've always wanted eternal life."
