It Started With A Text, Chapter Three
"Hey, El!" I greet as Eliza trudges into the parking lot, beside my car.
"Hi!" She has that glow on her face.
"I knew it!" I gasp, pointing my finger at her.
"Knew what?" She frowns.
"That you were the one texting me in class! Wait, when did you get a knew number?" I grin.
She laughs. "Crazy woman, I wasn't texting you!"
My grin falters. "Wait, what?"
"It wasn't me." She shrugs. "Hey! I love that song! It wasn't me! It wasn't me!"
I roll my eyes. "Ugh, that's not the point here! Someone was texting my in class!"
"So?" She asks. "Don't you expect texts if you have a phone?"
"The number was unknown. You heard me? Un- known."
"Yeah, well, I'll look at in the car. We're invite to a party. Go to Jean's Boutique. Plus, I have great news!!" She sings.
"What? Another party? Today's Monday! We went to a party on Sunday, Eliza. AKA yesterday. And I didn't even enjoy myself."
"Chill, woman." She chuckles as we get into the car and I start it. I put out if the empty parking lot and turn the way to go to Jean's. "This party is a formal one."
"Formal? How the fuck did you get your flat ass invited to a formal party?"
"There's a guy in my class," she began.
Oh boy.
"And he's cute. Obviously or I won't even look his way. Anyways, his parents own on of the most famous law firms in America. Turns out all the law firms in America come together and have a gala around this time of the year. And every person attending has to bring a date so what better person should he have asked than muah?"
"Okay...and how do I fit into this?"
"Eh, I asked him if I could bring a friend. "
"Doesn't that friend have to have a date?"
"I'm Jeremy's date, your my date. Easy."
"Okay...then?"
"Ya, now shh- I need to get into shopping mode."
"Yeah...not now, sorry." I reply. "Babe, we have something to discuss." I hand her my phone.
She types her name in, unlocking my phone and goes to text. She scrolls through them.
From field of vision, I see her eyes widen and then a smirk appears in her face. "Looks like my bestie has a secret admirer!"
"Haha, very funny." I say sarcastically. "This is some serious shit. Is someone stalking me? Omg is this some kind of set up? I won't go out alone anymore- anywhere I go you go too."
"Ya ya, now leave me in peace." Then in monotone, she says, "Commencing shopping mode."
"We're here already any ways," I say giggling, as I park the car. Getting out, we lock the doors and walk into the store.
Jean's Boutique has everything. From head bands up to the best looking dresses. I normally come here, to buy underwear though. Don't judge me, I just don't feel like Victoria Secret is me.
"There." El points to the rack of gowns at the back of the store.
We walk and admire the dresses.
