Sighing, Lucy sat down at a booth. "What can I get you, " asked a polite female voice. Looking up, she gave a weak smile. "Just coffee. Black please." Nodding, the woman headed the kitchen. A few minutes later, Lucy was leaving, blowing over the top of cup. As she pushed the door open, she turned to say good-bye to the waitresses, when suddenly, she rammed into a hard chest. Yelping, she stumbled backwards, then yelped again as her hot coffee spilled down her shirt. Looking up, she found herself looking into a pair of dark eyes.
"Shoot! I'm so sorry! Crap, I'm really sorry, I wasn't really looking where I was going." Blinking dazed, she shook her head. "No, it's entirely my fault. I wasn't paying attention, and I didn't notice you. " The guy still looked worried. "Well, can I do something to make it up to you? I still feel kinda bad." Lucy blinked, then looked down at her ruined sweater. "Well, you can buy me another coffee."
Another few minutes later, she was sitting at a booth again, while the guy paid for another coffee. When he came back, he had two with him. The second she assumed was for him. "So," she said slyly. "What's your name?" "Natsu Dragoneel," he answered, taking a sip. "What's your's?" "Rather hesitantly, she responded. "Lucy." Natsu gave a little cough. "Luigi? Like from Mario?" Lucy's cheeks flared. "Not Luigi!" she snapped irate. "Lucy!" "Oh, that makes more sense," he responded. "I thought Luigi was a weird name for a girl."
Groaning, she rested her head on the table. He was cute, but apparently not very bright. "I'm not stupid," he said. "If that's what you're thinking." Lucy felt her cheeks turn red again. "Sorry," she mumbled.
Natsu eyed his watch. "I have to go. Sorry again for spilling your coffee." She shrugged. "It's okay. Bye."
She watched him leave, and as she was about to throw away her cup and leave, she noticed something written on the sleeve. His number. A smile tugged at the edges of her lips. "Well played Natsu Dragoneel, well played." Then she left, the sleeve slipped into her purse.

Author's note: Wow. That was harder than I thought. This is my first fanfiction, so I'm sorry if they seem a little out of character. I appreciate constructive critism. No hate or flames please!
