He'd always ask me, "Mali ba to?"
I'd always respond with, "Ang alin?" despite the fact that I already know what he was talking about.
He'd never get tired of answering me, still, with, "Eto, tayo. Mali ba tayo?"
No matter how many times he'd ask me that line, my heart still manages to skip a beat upon hearing those words.
As for me, I would never get sick of answering him with, "Bakit mali? Did the Bible say na it's wrong to have an exceptional attraction between teachers and students? Pumatay ba tayo? Hindi naman diba?"
And, he'd always flash me that gorgeous smile, and his huge eyes would always stare at me in amusement as to how positive I can always manage to think.
We loved each other in an oddly unique way, but for some complicated, unfair reason, we were not made to last. We both knew we could do better. We compromised, for his profession, and my reputation.
