phil realized that he needed glasses from a young age. him squinting at the board, everything blurry.
eventually his younger self complained to his mother, and the very next day, he went to a eye glass and got a pair of prescription glasses.

now phil isn't the most graceful person you'll meet. in fact, he's not even graceful.
he's fucking clumsy.
in the past 17 years of his life (minus the 9 years of being practically blind without glasses,) he had broken more than 56 pairs of glasses. from falling down the stairs, to shopping for clothes — anything you can name, he's found a way to break his glasses.
phil thinks that should be a world record or something.
