Me and Victoria had turned on Pandora and played the station of today's hits. Work by Rihanna was on and we were jamming. I used the spatula as a microphone and she used the a wooden spoon.

"Work work work work work work!!!" We sang. She jumped off the stool and took my hand. We started dancing around and becoming louder and louder. Drake's part came on and it was my solo.

"You need to get done done done-" I ran into something interrupting me. Something hard. Once I turned around Brandon was standing there behind me in his suit and starring down at me.

"What are you doing?" He asked me.

I couldn't tell if he was mad or not so I contemplated on what my answer would be. "You know what never mind that. Tori finish eating it's time to go. I'm going to go get my laptop and some work files."

I looked at Tori who was cheesing hard.

"Your in trouble." She said to me dragging out the word trouble.

I laughed, but oh well right. We were just having a little fun. Is that really so bad? "Finish eating like your dad said."

She had packed a bag with toys and a few little snacks to get her through the day without getting too bored. I have a feeling this isn't the first time she has had to go on a business trip with him. She finished eating and I had her dry dishes that I had washed.

A few minutes later we were all outside by the newest black on black mustang. Once we got to the car I helped get Victoria in, buckling her seat belt and shut her door. I walked over to Brandon. "I guess I'll see you Monday?" I said.

He looked confused. "Your not coming with us?" He asked.

"I wasn't planning on it. And i'm sure you already paid for your tickets. There's no need to go through all that trouble." I said honestly.

"Look Jhene..." He started off running his hands over his face. "I need you to come with me because Tori doesn't like everyone. And it's too late for me to try and get someone else. Money and tickets are not a problem at all. As a matter of fact I will pay you for today. Just please come."

I was a little taken aback by his pleading. Its not like I could just leave him high and dry now. I could see that he was just a hardworking single father. In many ways I could relate with my situation. I can recall many times when I needed someone to watch David for me when I went to work. Ms. Debra couldn't always do it. I looked in his eyes and before I knew it I had said ¨Yes¨.

¨Thank you. Now please get in. We have to go." I made my way to the passengers side and got in. The car was nice but I couldn't expect any less from him I am starting to see. I began wondering if he was born into wealth or did he work really hard to get everything he had.

I texted Tonya telling her that I am going out of town on business. But I should be back later today.

She replied telling me that it was fine and that he wants to stay another night anyway. I smiled ¨He must be having fun." I said aloud on accident.

¨Boyfriend?" Brandon asked me.

¨No. I was telling my sister that I would be a little late picking up my son and she said he wanted to stay another night anyways.¨ I said putting my phone away.

¨Oh, I see. Sorry.¨ He said keeping his eyes on the road.

¨Its fine.¨ I said starring out of the window.

Silence filled the car. I turned around to the back and Tori was sleeping. She looked angelic.

¨So where is his father?¨ Mr. Davis asked me while stopping at a red light.

I looked over at him and said ¨Dead¨.

He didn't push the subject anymore. Maybe because he knew the feeling all to well.

We finally got to the airport but we ended up going to the back. There was a jet waiting. We got out of the car and Brandon picked up Victoria careful not to wake her up. She wrapped her arms around his neck and got comfortable. They were cute. I admired him for being a father like that.

Once we got on I ended up taking Tori and laying her down in my lap while Brandon got on his laptop and briefed himself for the meeting that he was about to have.

I continuously ran my hand through her hair as she slept peacefully. I studied her face mostly. I looked up while we were getting ready for take off and Brandon was looking at me. We held eye contact and it was strange. Like he was telling me something but I couldn't pick it up. Maybe I was just overthinking it. I cant lie, I am attracted to him. His looks. His mysterious demeanor. The way he cared for his daughter. The way he strives for success even though is already is successful.

Before he just seemed egotistical. I could have sworn he was a jerk. But I guess you cant judge someone as soon as you meet them.
