"The end of the church period is left underestimate. It will be by the fulfilment of I Thes, 4:14-17. It says, 'For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him'. Verse 15, 'For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are sleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remains shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord".
That was Sunday, in the time of preaching of our pastor. We'll I can't understand it so I just thought, "Whatever, I don't care". I'm so stupid at that time, not actually paying attention.
And he continues, "In Revelation chapters 4-6 are believed to synchronize with Daniel's seventieth week. Let's open our bible on Daniel 9:24-"
"Turn the bible, fine", I thought.
As I turn it, our pastor read, "Seventy weeks are determine upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy'. The great tribulation begins at the 'middle of the week' and continuous three and a half years. We can see it on Rev. 19:21.
"Be aware my brethren, some people will be on that tribulation, if they didn't truly accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Anyway, the tribulation is brought to an end by the appearing of the Lord and the battle of Armageddon. It is written on Rev. 19:11-21" and he read it. "Then, the kingdom follows as we see in Rev. 20:4-5. After this, the little season as it is written on Rev. 20:7-15", and he read it. "And then eternity".
"Over the centuries, prophecy buffs have tried to 'set the hands' by predicting the 'midnight hour' of Christ's return. But their date-setting have failed and left many people disillusioned. Conflicted views of the precise order of events and the nearness of His coming have diverted many from our Lord's primary reason for speaking about these events.
"When Jesus spoke of His return, it was to remind us to be ready as it is written on Matt. 24:45-46 that we shouldn't calculate the day of His return. Rather, He emphasized that our main goal is to make sure were ready for Him, and that we are occupied in His service when He comes".
Time passed by and our Sunday Service ended. I left the church forgetting some things that I heard. Well, I'm always like that- going to church and then coming home without knowing anything.
"Hey, Zech"
Oh, I forgot to tell you. My name is Zechariah Cruz. I was named after a book from the bible. Zechariah was one of the prophets in the old testaments. But most people call me Zech. I have a dad, his name is Benjamin Cruz. He's a businessman and also one of the deacons in our church. My mom's name is Sarah Cruz. She doesn't have a job, she's just a housewife. But, she's really good at cooking. I love my mom. I am the eldest in our family. I have a brother named David, who is five years younger than me.
Anyway, it was my dad who called me. "Zech", he repeated.
"Yeah", I answered.
"Can you help me with this?", he was talking about opening our car. My dad just bought it on sale, so it's not really a great car. It gives us a hard time opening it.
"Yeah, sure", I said.
"Ok, on the count of three. One, two, three!", and thank God we opened it. "Alright, let's get inside", my Dad said.
"Mom, I'm hungry", complained David. I really hate that kid, he always complains.
"It's ok, honey. We'll be home in a minute", Mom answered.
"But mom, I need something to eat. The preaching was too long. I think I'm going to faint while I'm there", he complained further.
"David, stop complaining. In everything give thanks", Dad said.
"Your dad's right honey. Here, take this biscuit", Mom said.
"A biscuit?", David complained.
"Shut up and just eat your biscuit", I told him.
"Zech, don't talk to your brother like that", Mom said to me.
"But Mom, he's always complaining", I explained.
"Really", said David. "If you're on my situation, you'll do the same. I only ate a little at breakfast-
"It's because you woke up so late, and you're the only one we've been waiting to go to church", I scolded.
"Ok, you two. Stop fighting", Dad said. "We just come from church and now you're behaving really badly. You don't listen to the word of God by heart. All you have in mind is your stomach. The bible said, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that preceedeth out of the mouth of God'. You should know that, David".
"Yeah, sorry Dad".
Huh, my little brother became an angel after a sermon.
"It's ok. And you too, Zech...", Dad turned to me.
Oh. I have sermon, too.
"You're the eldest one and you're always starting a fight with your brother. You should be the one to set a good example of being a Christian to your brother. Do you understand?", said Dad.
"Yes, Dad", I answered, "sorry"
"It's alright. Now, I don't want to hear another fight between you two, ok?", said Dad.
"Yes, Dad", we both answered.
We reached our house and my mom started cooking lunch. She's really good at it. She cooked fast and the food was delicious. Of course we had to pray before we eat, like my dad says, 'in everything give thanks'.
