Chapter 2

Five years ago we released the humans, keeping the murders, rapists and thieves. When ever someone committed a crime they would come back here. I was sitting at my desk going over the new shipment of slaves when Alexis came running in from her room with a ’Full Moon’ newspaper shouting, “They’ve made an Orca vampire!” Those vampires on the west coast were making my life hell with all their ridiculous experiments. Last week, it was a chimpanzee and Alexis felt the need to have one. Of course, I told her no and had to listen to her fit for days. “They injected it with donated vampire blood after draining it almost dead.” She read from the paper. Even if I would allow her to have this thing, I didn’t want to know where she planned on keeping it. “Can we go see it?” Here begins this week’s fight.

“No.” I simply replied.

I sat there impatiently waiting for the, “Why?” Alexis whined.

“Because I what I say goes.”

“But…”

“Alexis your brother would shit his pants and no, he can not be left here alone.” I interrupted her it’s educational speech.

“I just saw a killer whale vampire. They were feeding it a walrus. Just proves you can live of animal blood.” McKayla decided to appear just at the right time. “It is so massive and so neat looking.” She continued. I crossed my arms on the desk, dropping my head into them. “What?” she asked innocently. She must have no clue what she just started.

“See, mom just saw it, why can’t I?” Alexis whined.

“Oh,” McKayla responded knowing she was in trouble. She began to fade, trying to make a sneaky attempt to escape the problem she just caused.

“McKayla Angelina Anderson, I swear if you leave after what you just started I will,” I began to claim.

“You’ll what?” She said grinning knowing she had me beat. There was nothing I could do to her.

“Nothing, just go,” I gave in frustrated.

She stuck around sighing, “Your brother would shit his pants.”

“I already tried that one,” I said grinning waiting for her next attempt.

“You can’t leave him,”

“Tried that one too,” I said triumphantly knowing she was getting no where without a fight just like me.

“Because I said so,” She said sternly.

I began laughing, “Tried that too.”

She stood there glaring at Alexis. Alexis huffed and walked out. “You’re just a push over, that’s why it didn’t work.” She said triumphantly in return. I tossed a book at her. The book went through her hitting the wall behind her. She began laughing at my frustration.

“I’m only a push over, because every time I try to punish them, I end up with things hitting me!” I shouted aggravated. I am not a push over, everyone carries a high amount of fear and respect for me, except her and my only two fledglings, which happens to be, her children. “It would be nice to have a little bit of respect from those who should respect me the most.” I grumbled.

“You saved my children’s lives. Of course, we respect you and we fear you. Michael’s afraid to death of you.” She said smiling. I could sense the laughter she was holding back.

“A fly scares Michael to death.”

“You were the one who said a personality of a human is doubled once changed.”
