What the fuck?!

I took in the sight before me. My bike was punctured. Punctured. How did that happen?! I just pumped my bike yesterday, and afterwards made sure it was all fine, but now...

With my mouth still gaping, I looked at my wristwatch. 10 minutes to eight. Then looked at my bike. At the tire. At the road. And then at my watch again. Dammit.

I had to either run to school and hope I could reach it in ten minutes, or pump my bike and pray to the Gods that I could do it as fast as hell.

Either way, I was sure I wouldn't reach school in time.

So being the amazing person that I am, I just stood there like an idiot looking miserably at my bike.

After a minute or so, I realized what a retarded person I was, wasting all the precious time. What was wrong with me? However a mental slap did some wonders, and soon I was running towards my school. Why was I always so unlucky? I really needed to find a shamrock soon...

I was panting and sweating a bit and looked like a mess. But a quick look at my watch told me I didn't have time to stop; that I had to hurry up.  I just had to hope ( I was hoping a lot that day) that I wasn't seen by someone I knew. Even if I didn't care about what most people thought of me, it didn't actually make me happy if someone looked at me and thought I was some mental person on the run from a psychiatric hospital. Yeah, I probably looked like that right now.

I guess luck wasn't with me that day, and that I'd wasted my energy on hoping, when I saw a car following me. And guess who was inside? Nope. Not a creepy stalker. Not the police. Not even my dad, mom or brother finding out about my situation and coming to drive me to school.

 Guess who?

Ryder Vance. My annoying next door neighbor. My hot, annoying next door neighbor, my mind corrected me. And also one of the last persons I wanted to see at that exact moment, when my half-brushed hair was everywhere, when my face looked like a tomato... you get it.

I stopped for a moment and stared at him. What was he doing there? And why was he slowing down, the nearer he came? Why had he that stupid smirk on his face? Why was he rolling his window down?

 Oh.

He was probably driving (did I mention he had one hell of a sexy car? Well, now I did) to school and saw me on the way there, looking like shit, and decided to make fun of me.

Hell no.

I picked up my pace again and refused to look back at him and his goddamn drool worthy car. His car came nearer and nearer and was slowly driving right beside me, while I was running as fast as I could.

News flash: You can't outrun a person driving in a car.

I stopped and turned to glare at him, just as he rolled his window down, and struck his head out.

"Hey! What is such a pretty girl doing outside at this time of the day, looking like she's about to face death?"

I narrowed my eyes, and was about to shout a reply to him but – dammit – the time was ticking, and I really couldn't afford being late for the first time in my life because of that idiot.

So I began to run again. I'm not even going to say that I hoped he would do whatever hot-idiot-neighbors do in the morning, because let's face it: The Lucky Fairies hated me. And, just as I thought - he didn't leave me alone. Instead, he just drove slowly beside me like he was mocking me and my apparently legs. But hey! Not everyone can look like they are running fast, when running beside a car with a top speed on.. on.. Ugh. Forget it. Nothing.

"Hey, you! Hop in and I'll drive you to school!"

I only half heard what he was saying, but after a few seconds the words were slowly registering in my mind. He. Drive. Me. School. Not late.

When I looked at him, he was perfectly serious. I cursed (blamed it on my heavy bag, my tired legs, and the fact that I was sweating and panting) and ran over to the other side of the car and hopped into the passenger seat. When seated I managed to get out a "thank you", just before he pressed down on the gas pedal and the car was flying down the road.

We didn't have time to talk, because a minute later we arrived to school. I quickly got out and was about to thank him, when I saw him get out too. Was he going to walk me to my class or something? Didn't he have anything better to do?

When he saw me looking at him with a confused expression, he chuckled and a cute dimple appeared on his left cheek. Wauw. He totally won the cute-contest between him and a cat I'd recently seen. 1000000 to 10.

Then my eyes fell on the bag he had around his shoulder, and the papers he had in his hand with the school's logo on it.

And I immediately felt stupid for not figuring out, he probably attended to the same school as me, because it was the school nearest to our houses.

And then it hit me. He really was going to attend to my school.

God? Are you there?!
