I sat at my lunch table, that I was currently alone at. Like everyday. It was Monday, which I'm not exactly loving either. I was picking at my food, currently staring out into space, thinking. I didn't have friends, being that I had the worst stutter ever. I also occasionally got picked on for my stutter. I can get where they are coming from I'm a freak.

I was broken out of thought when I felt a soft tap on my left shoulder. I froze, intimated.

For a second I thought it was another popular kid trying to humiliate me, but I was relieved when I turned around. Turning around I saw an unfamiliar boy. I mean I was pretty familiar with everyone, even if I had no friends. I observed all the time, and I've been going to school with these kids since I first started elementary.

His hair was a bright pink, mostly covered with a black backwards snap back. He had gauges and you can't forget the nose ring. He waved at me, smiling. He had deep dimples making him look kind and welcoming. His smile was breath taking.

Yeah, I'm gay. I mean I've never really been with a girl or boy, matter of fact. But I guess you can say I always found boys attractive.

"Hey! I'm josh, I was wondering if I could sit here with you. I'm new." He said, joyfully.

"S-sure I gu-guess," I muttered sheepishly, unsure of what to say.

He smiled gently, thanking me. He took the seat on the left of me, "Why are you all by yourself? If I may ask."

I avoided his gaze, "N-nobody wa-wants to sit, s-sit w-with me. I-I'm j-just a fr-freak.

"What? You're not a freak, you seem like a cool person."

Why was he being so nice? Ou get caught talking to me once in a nice way and you are immediately a lowlife.

"B-but yo-you d-don't e-even k-know me." I said, looking at him in confusion.

"Well then tell me something about yourself," he said, resting his chin on his hand looking directly at me.

"U-um," I muttered.

"Okay fine, I'll go first and then you can go after," he said. He rubbed his chin like playfully like he was thinking.

"Okay. I'm Joshua Dun, you can just call me Josh. I just moved here from Cleveland, so not to far. I love drumming and my favorite band is La Dispute. My absolute favorite animal is a cat and I basically live inside every Taco Bell." He said.

I laughed, forgetting about everyone around me, except for Josh.

"M-my na-name is T-tyler Jo-Joseph. I-i've li-lived he-here m-m-" I was suddenly cut off by a, sadly, familiar voice.

"Hey! New kid, you don't want to sit by the freak. Come sit with us!" Andy laughed, all his friends laughing with him. I sunk done a bit, to embarrassed to keep my head up.

"Hey how about you fuck off, I'm fine where I am," Josh shouted back, I looked up so fast probably almost snapping my neck.

I looked back at Andy, he had the most hateful expression. I'm surprised he didn't get up, maybe he wasn't in the mood.

"Hey," I looked up at Josh, when he called for me to look back at him.

"Now what were you saying?" Before I could answer, the bell ring. It was time for fifth period, Josh got up smiling at me.
