Haah! (Sigh). It had been a great day and everything was going to plan ,we had just been swimming to Dunbar swimming pool (the one with the wave machine). And now we are just going to the harbour to feed the seals, as we get closer and closer we notice that it isn't on so we decide to take a walk through the beach. As we arrived there we saw that it was closed off , we decided to go anyway. Climbing down the rocks I realised that there were seagulls sitting all around us. My mum told me to go over to her and stand there so she could take my picture she waited for a couple seconds then told me to say cheese. Me not knowing what was happening said cheese and my gran took big massive bucket of saltwater over my head . I started to laugh as water dripped down my cheek and off my chin. After that my mum and gran said they needed the toilet but said we could stay down at the beach as long as we didn't go near the water, they then left . Me being an idiot suggested we went down to the water any way. My brother and sister both said no, I told them it was ok and not to worry, leading them to eventually come down to the water with me. Down at the water we walked right to the edge to see the waves hitting the rocks. At the edge I started to see the rocks hitting the waves and soaking the rock I was standing on. I started to play a game by waiting for the waves to hit the rock I was on and jump to the other side. The first wave came and it was big, as it hit the rock I jumped to the other side straight over the top of it and on to the rock over the other side. PHEW. I made it to the other side untouched by the waves and landed perfectly. We continued to play this game over and over. Eventually the waves got so big that the rock was was starting to get covered by water. My brother and sister went back to the sand away from the water but I decided to stay and continue to play the game. The waves continued to get closer and bigger as I played the game. My brother and sister shouted on me to come back because they saw my mum and gran coming back. I replied back with one more time. At this point the waves were so big they were starting to hit the rock I was jumping to, I decided to jump anyway. I turned around and let my ascend into thin air, I looked to my side and saw the biggest wave just rushing towards me. I then looked forwards noticing I was not making it! I inhaled slowly wishing I would make it until I felt the water rushing through my socks and eventually slowly tripping me up. I fell into the water like I had 1000 weights strapped to my back. The force of the waves sent me rushing towards rocks as if I were a rhino. My body crushed against a rock, I thought the worst was over until another wave came rushing towards me like a torpedo. I was instantly thrown against a rock like a ragdoll. Piercing through my ribs I saw my life flash before me as I sunk down into the depth of the ocean. This time instead of going towards the light I was heading towards the darkness of the ocean. My eyes shutting I could no longer see where I was but the thought of drowning kept the fear running through my veins. As I got deeper I stopped struggling and left myself to die. I DID. I was dead for exactly 3 minutes and 15 seconds before I was saved by a local townsperson who watched me play the game and get swooped away by the waves. She brought me back to shore and gave me life once again. I couldn't thank her enough because she sat with me until my mum came and explained exactly what happened. My mum was very angry with me for going down to the water but very happy because I was alive. Before we left my mum took me to the hospital to check if there was still water in my lungs and stitch the cuts and wounds all over my body. We were in the hospital for a while, whilst the doctor took the water out my lungs and stitched me up. After the doctors we went home and I got a shower because I stunk of seawater. My mum and gran weren't actually that mad at me they were more just happy I was alive. We continued to have a good night and never talk about it again.

                                            THE END
