Erin was screaming, her flesh bubbling with livid blisters. Candy floss hair burned red, dropping to the floor around her, only staying for seconds before the flames engulfed the strands whole. Her entire face was contorted in pain, as her brave front crumbled. "RAE!" she screamed. Rae stood there helplessly, slack-jawed, as her limbs turned to lead. The flames crackled and danced, growing in intensity as the ruddy-haired girl they encircled melted. "RAE!" Erin screamed once again, her voiced slurred by pain. Each animalistic sound that the wretched girl choked out made Rae crumple a bit more. There was a well only a short distance away, over the hill. Yet every attempt made to move was in vain- it was clear that her brain wasn't planning on sending the electrical impulses down to her limbs anytime soon. She couldn't even tear her vision away, doomed to be a witness to the horrific death of an innocent girl. A girl that melted like wax, a human candle. A girl whose punishment for trying to protect her dignity was to be set alight. She was no Katniss Everdeen, but most definitely a girl on fire.
