When she was five,
Her parent loved each other
So she finger painted hearts in red paint
Said it was about love
And she called herself an artist
When she was seven,
Her mom and dad got a divorce
So she drew a picture of a wilting red rose
Said it was about life
And she called herself an artist
When she was thirteen,
A boy made her cry
So she made paintings of a red heart
Said it was about heartbreak
And she called herself an artist
When she was fifteen,
The bullies at school kept taunting her
So she drew herself a big red teardrop
Said it was about pain
And she called herself an artist
When she was seventeen,
She said couldn't take it anymore
So she cut on herself long red marks
Said it was about death
And she called herself an artist
