"Heyyyy girls." Comes the 'seductive' voice of Sirius black, sidling through the doorway and setting himself down next to Mary who pulls her bag away from him as if he has some form of contagious disease.

"Hi." Lily dead pans, looking at the four of them blankly before she turns away, trying to continue her conversation with the others.

James comes through the door and smiles sadly at the lack of attention he receives from her.

"Lily-flower, don't be so cold, you're breaking my heart." For a moment he sounds genuinely hurt and I almost feel sorry for him, but then his sad smile morphs into a smirk and all the pity I once felt for him vanishes.

They suddenly spot me there and their lips twist up in disgust.

"Oh, I thought I smelled something bad. Hi there Imogen, fancy seeing you here."

"Don't talk to her like that!" Mary shrieks - she can be kinda overprotective of us all. "She's our friend!"

"With that statement, my opinion of you has greatly diminished." He shakes his head in disappointment and I can feel myself start to awkwardly fidget.

"Get out." She snaps suddenly.

"I love a challenge, especially a feisty one. See you later sweetheart." Sirius winks at her as he pulls himself up out of his chair and heads back towards the open door where both Peter and Remus wait in the corridor talking lowly and not daring to look in our direction.

She does not look impressed at his cocky attitude and purposely turns away from him to face me. James blows Lily a kiss before following Sirius out, an action that she responds with a fake retch.

They are such gits, I scribble out quickly, making sure that they aren't still lurking outside the door before showing the girls who laugh and nod in agreement.

"Do you think you're ever going to go out with Potter, Lils?" Ali asks with eyes alight with a teasing air.

"Merlin no!" She exclaims. "He doesn't like me for me, he barely knows me!"

You'd be cute together. I choose to say this in sign language, knowing that only Ali can understand.

She laughs again and signs back I know.

"Would you stop that!" Mary exclaimed (as you might have realised, she's quite a vocal person). "I can't understand a single thing you're saying and it's incredibly irritating."

Alice gives me a look as if to say that's the whole point and I struggle to not laugh out loud.

A few friends come by and we briefly chat, well they chat and I don't do anything really. Later on in the ride Lily ditches us with a promise to regroup once we arrive at the station, heading off down the corridor to go and see her friend Severus in a different carriage and I continue reading my book while Ali and Mary talk. The train eventually pulls up to the station and all the students pile out onto the platform, shouts flying backwards and forwards between both friends and enemies. I duck out of the way of the hoard and snag a carriage for the four of us, taking a piece of raw steak out of a small bag in my jacket pocket and feeding it to the threstral with a small smile tugging at my lips.

"Oh look, she's trying to make up for her lack of friends." Black insults.

I inwardly flinch and retract my hand from the creatures neck, my head turned down to the ground as I climb into the carriage with Mary, Alice and now Lily who's joined us again. They have nothing but sweet words of encouragement falling from their lips as they tell me to ignore them. I just nod along and sigh in relief as the carriage starts.

I briefly dare to look back and see the marauders standing there - three of them ignoring me and one staring intently.

His eyes linger in the back of my mind as we ride up the winding path towards the castle. As soon as we reach the stone steps my brothers appear by my side and hook their arms between mine, practically lifting my feet off the ground as their great height practically dwarfs me.

"Hello Immy." Gideon grins.

"How have you been?"  Fabian chips in.

You saw me two hours ago. I laugh, my head quickly turning from one to the other.

"I know, but I was still curious. Can't we ask after our favourite sister?" Gideon flatters me and bats his eyelashes jokingly.

Don't tell Molly that.

"She'll only know if you tell her." He says dismissively. "And you wouldn't, would you? You don't want us to get in any form of trouble, don't you?"

I'm getting suspicious now. They don't usually act this nice unless they want to get something out of it. Is it bad to say I don't trust them? Past experiences have told me that they only suck up to me when they want me to do something.

What do you want? I narrow my eyes at them.

They look at me, seemingly outraged by my accusation.

"I am hurt by that statement." Fabian pouts, once again faking taking offence to my words. "Can't we just call in one little favour?"

Depends what the favour is. I frown.

"You'll know in time. Just remember that we were always with you."

They walk ahead into the hall and I drop back in an attempt to catch up with Mary, Lily and Alice. We head towards the Gryffindor table and settle down to watch the first years come through for the sorting.

It's so cute to watch as they first enter into the hall. Their little mouths fall open and their eyes light up in amazement. Little do they know they've got years of exams and potions to deal with.

Plus a whole load of drama, fun and friendships.
