Beauty (Steven x reader)

Ages: Archie, Maxie, Steven, Wallace - 21

You, Brendan, Wally - 18 (just thought I'd clear this up)

The steel-haired man watched you intently as you entered the stage. Wallace had made such a big deal about just how "simply fabulous" your contest skills were, and you just so happened to be a pretty big deal on the contest scene, along with being the new champion of the Hoenn region and having saved the world a handful of times, so the former champion decided to come and see for himself. His very first pokemon, Metagross, was sitting beside him. (the rules in the contest hall are that any trainer can have one pokemon out, as long as it is well behaved and up to date on its vaccinations.)

Your H/C hair was out of its usual ponytail/bandana combo, and was instead put into an elegant updo, with a few strands let out and curled gently so that they framed your face. You were wearing a long and elegant mermaid-style strapless dress that was a midnight blue in color. Your Ninetales had a similar colored ribbon on its neck, and Steven recognized it as the same Pokemon who took down his Metagross in your battle to see who would be champion.

The fox's combination of fire attacks awed the crowd, but Steven found himself being mesmerized by the trainer herself.

Y/N. You were a strong and kind trainer, a beauty, a hero, a champion, a star, and yet you were humble enough that you never let it go to your head. That was one of the many reasons that the young man admired you.

Your dark dress made you stand out among the flames, and the inferno of fire-type attacks illuminated your beautiful face, making it glow. Steven found himself staring at you in your sheer elegance and glory for far longer than appropriate.

"Y/N, huh?" his partner commented.

"I never thought you'd go for a celebrity."

The young man's pale face turned a rather impressive shade of scarlet, a few shades darker than the Overheat attack that your Pokemon performed.

"Shut up." he mumbled, unable to think of a more intelligent comeback at the time.

"Oh, I knew it from the moment you had gotten a buzz from Drake that a young woman had come to challenge you and had just beaten him with her Golduck."

"Stop."

"And your face went all red."

"Stop."

" And you almost stopped breathing and passed out."

Steven elbowed the steel beast, which, in hindsight, probably wasn't the best idea, considering Metagross was, you know, MADE OF STEEL.

"Ow..." he muttered, rubbing his sore elbow, as the iron legged Pokemon chuckled in its robotic voice and did what the man assumed was a smirk.

"Also, in your embarrassment over your rather obvious crush on Y/N, you probably didn't realise that the contest is over and we are sitting in the empty contest hall like idiots." (because the author is too lazy to write out an entire contest. Bite me.)

"... Crap."

___*TIMESKIP TO A LITTLE BIT AFTER THE CONTEST*___

"Steven!" you shouted, pushing through the crowd to tackle the young man.

You unwrapped your arms from his neck and looked up at him. (Yes, up. Steven is tall. Or you are short. Or both. Take your pick.)

"What did you think?"

Luckily, Steven's attempt at reducing his blush succeeded, and he managed to work the flames on his cheeks down to a slight rosy hugh.

"You did very well, I was impressed. Wallace didn't exaggerate your abilities one bit."

Now it was your turn to blush.

"Yeah, but it was all thanks to Fabio here that I was able to win."

The elegant fox pokemon purred and leaned into your hand as you patted his head.

Steven took this small bonding moment to get a better look at you. Still in your contest costume, your makeup consisted of simple eyeliner, brown eyeshadow, and a dark red lipstick.

"I really do appreciate you coming to watch me, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it."

You offered a small smile and wave, before running off to mew-knows-where to change.

"Steven?"

"Uh-huh?"

The pokemon took a minute before replying

"You're staring again."
