But... if he let it engulf him, would he forget everything again, would that be better? Yeah, he didn't want remember. If he forgets Kurona... and everything bad, then he'll feel a lot better.

He starts to drift off, but Nashiro snapped at him once again.

"Are you going to abandon your promise to her!" She yelled into his face. This made him freeze, everything in the room froze, the tar stopped engulfing him.

"Promise?" He mumbled.

Nashiro saw that she was getting somewhere. "You promised her you... that you wouldn't go anywhere. She was scared that you would disappear!" She said, grabbing his collar.

Levin remembered back when him and Kurona talked in her room, the night he realized he was in love. The choked and sad words he remembered her saying.

"I'm afraid you'll disappear."

Inside his mind, Levin screamed, not just the broken one, but even the others. All his personalities screamed in pain, all disappearing and forming into different ones, only to fall apart again. Each personality seemed to be fighting for control.

But even though this was happening in his mind, he still stood there in reality, staring with wide eyes at the wall now. Nashiro hugged him tightly from the front.

"Don't you remember?" She said, starting to let out a sob. "You promised you'd never go anywhere... that you'd reverse her surgery."

"You already did enough, it's okay." Nashiro said, squeezing tight as Levin began to slip and fall to his knees. Nashiro fell with him, they now are on their knees, her arms wrapped around him while she cried.

Levin stared at the ceiling. In his mind, everything stopped moving again. The promise? How could he forget something so important? That he wouldn't disappear. And look what he did? He went up and left, and came back broken.

He'd thought he was keeping his promise to fix her, to protect her. But really he had already disappeared ever since he remembered everything in that lab.

He disappeared. He didn't exist. Who didn't exist? Who is Levin Seto? He wasn't even sure which personality was his, which one was the real him.

It hurt. It hurt so much. Everything he had worked for had collapsed when she died, yet when he heard that she was gone, he didn't feel a thing. That's what had scared him the most. How could he be so numb? Why was he like this? He wanted to change.

He wants to still change. But how can he do that?

Nashiro lessened her grip on him. "You don't have to shoulder it all by yourself. Your not the only one hurting from this." She said, her voice whimpered.

Levin slowly looked down at her, her face was covered in tears. Her white hair had become a mess, and her face looked pained.

In his mind, everything came back to him until there was only two standing. Ghoul and Human stood there, looking at one another.

Ghoul chuckled to himself. "Well... this isn't going to work out, is it?"

Human ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, looks like we're going to have to fix it."

"Fix it? How?" Said a voice.

Ghoul pushed the one that had talked, while he disappeared. "Jeez. The girl said it, don't you remember?"

Thoughts came back to him, and he remembered the time he had gotten into a fight with Juuzou, and was bleeding in the streets. It was raining, he thought.

Kurona had found him while he was going berserk, and comforted him. He remembered the words that had lingered in his heart, what had brought him back.

"The Levin that doesn't smile, isn't the Levin I know." She had said.

After hearing this, Levin stood in front of Ghoul and Human, they both smiled at him.

"It took us this long to realize." He said, looking down at his hands. When he looked back up, they were both gone, and the room slowly dissolved.

He was back in reality again, staring down at Nashiro who was crying. His chest twisted, and his body shook. Nashiro noticed this and looked up at him.

"Its okay to let it out." She said.

Tears welled up his eyes, and he choked on sobs. Then it came out, all the emotions that he had held in, along with the thoughts of Kurona washed away.

He leaned on Nashiro as he wept, the night slowly went on. Outside in the hall, Rize listened in, and as she heard them, a gentle smile went to her face.

She then left them to it. "Take care of the cry baby for me, Shiro." She whispered.

The night slowly whisked away, the tears whisking along with it.

(*sits back in chair, cries* why do I do this to myself with the feels? Well, Levin finally snapped out of it. Now to see what the future holds for him. But don't worry, you'll still get to see insanity in this story... I think you know from who, mwahahaha! Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171

Ps -
With Levin having the tarot 9 attached to him, or the Hermit, it symbolized how when Kuro *died* he finally broke and trapped his mind in the room (or his head). This chapter represents him breaking out of that room, and finally facing the truth. There might be more tarots on him, so be on the look out~
