*a little description to help things be a bit less confusing, there's a single bedroom with Vani's bed on one wall and Ven's on the opposite wall, thus giving each boy their own space. Vani's desk is in the back corner of his side though he's just sitting in a swivel chair in the living room rn okay sorry moving on enjoy*

-Vanitas pov-

I leaned back in my chair with a sigh, taking a break from my work. I skim over the block of text on my laptop screen one last time, then turning to face the empty dorm room, I glanced at the boxes that lay scattered around. I should really finish unpacking, I barely have my side of the room done... Maybe later, I'm almost finished with this page anyway.

I closed my eyes, enjoying the silence of the room. Of course, that didn't last long when I was startled by a sudden crash of the door opening followed by a boy stumbling in, obviously overloaded with boxes.

"Crap, sorry! I didn't mean to slam the door open like that but it's pretty hard with-" he paused to set down the stack, revealing a blond crop of hair and sky blue eyes. "-my arms crammed with cardboard." He laughed softly, "name's Ventus, though everyone just calls me Ven. Guess we're roommates!"

I groaned at the sudden disruption. So much for a break... "Vanitas." I sat upright in my chair and leaned back to my laptop, continuing where I had left off.

Ventus-er, Ven, peered over my shoulder to read what I was working on, and I immediately slammed my laptop shut. "That isn't for you to read." He backed up a bit.

"Why not? Something private?"
"It doesn't matter what it is, i said no."
"Jeez, alright then. Don't you have people reading your work a lot though? I heard a bit about you, apparently your writing has been pretty popular."

I looked up at him and snickered. "thanks." I got up from my chair and moved to my bed, leaning up against the wall so I could work without prying eyes. Ven shrugged and began unpacking his things; a few photos, light furniture, a wooden sword with the name 'Terra' carved in it..? Blah blah blah other junk, I stopped paying attention and reopened my laptop to continue typing.

After an annoying case of writers block, I decided not to be a total stranger to this dude.
"So what are you here for?"
He set down a photo- Is that a picture of himself? In his own dorm? and gave me a puzzled look.

"Well I mean I was assigned this dorm, I asked up front and they said-"
"I meant your course, dumbass."
"Oh! Uh, theatre. Performing always sounded like a fun idea."

A knock at the door interrupted our half-assed conversation, and Ven rushed to answer it. Somebody he knew I guess? I heard a bit of cheerful conversation, then he walked back into the room with- oh god there's two of them.

"This is my brother, Roxas. He's an animation student." he chirped. Oh, that explains the picture. "Twins?" Ven nodded and Roxas gave a light wave. I guess he isn't too fond of new people, though he sounded like a completely different person when talking with Ven. Classes are gonna be hell for him.

My writers block finally left and I went back to my laptop, leaving the twin's excited chatter to melt into white noise.
