My eyes bugged out as Jason walked into the library. His gaze searching and determined. I gripped onto Danny’s arm and yanked him to the ground between two book cases.

Being the silly girly girl that he is, not really he was all man, he let out a strangled shriek. I put my finger to his lips and shushed him. Getting on my knees I peeked my eyes over the short book case. When I was certain Jason wasn’t looking this way I pulled Danny up into the same position as I was in. “See that boy? That’s Jason.” I gazed at him for a few seconds before letting out a little appreciative moan.

Danny raised an eyebrow. “Do I even want to know why you did that?” I grinned and shook my head. “Let me guess. You’re in love with him?”

My smile fell from my face and I slapped his arm. “Shhhh! Don’t say it so loud!” I looked back out trying to find him. “The heck did he go?”

“Hiding again Kitten?” A delectably deep voice asked from behind me.

I stifled a shriek as I jumped up banging my knee against the book case. “Jason,” I gasped out as Danny grumbled, “Kitten?”

“Hi!” I said trying to sound perky and not like I had just been caught creeping on him. “This is Danny!” I yanked Danny to his feet.

Jason only nodded, his eyes bouncing off of Danny for only a moment. “Let’s go.” He took my arm and started to pull me away from Danny.

“Hey watch the lace!” I complained as his hand was rough against it. “The fuck braw?” I tried to pull away from him.

“You have class. Now let’s go.” His voice was deep and hard, not a touch of play to it.

“I have T.A. next block. For the library. Which is where we are. Next class starts in five minutes.” I said slowly my temper heating slowly. “Danny has study hall. He can be in the library if he wants. You have Life Guarding. You need to head to class.”

His jaw visibly clenched. “Who the hell is this kid anyway?”

“I told you, this is Danny. He’s one of my old friends from Dad’s pack. Your mom had me show around some of them.”

“How many?”

“I don’t know, like fifteen.” Damn dude get out of my business. I’m sorry I didn’t mean that!! Please pay as much attention to me as you want.

“Were they all boys?”

“Yeah. What does that have to do anything?”

He ignored me turning to Danny. “You’re one of the ‘suitors’ aren’t you.” It was a statement not a question.

“Yep and proudly.” Danny beamed.

I stared at him shocked. “What?”

“Your Dad choose me to be one of the guys you could choose from.” He beamed at me.

“You do know I’m being forced into this right?” I replied dryly. He nodded. “And you’re actually wanting to be one of the guys that could like totally take my freedom away?”

His face scrunched up in an uncomfortable expression. “Rosie, put yourself in my shoes. If your Alpha had come to you and asked you to marry your old best friend wouldn’t you take him on that offer? And what if they had grown into such a beautiful young woman? Who could pass that up?”

I stared at him blankly. “Get out.”

“Rosie?” He tried to take my hand but I just pulled away.

“Get. Out.”

“Come on Rosie, don’t be like this. Please try to understand.” His voice was starting to get on my nerves.
