It was a dark and stormy night, the rain dripped on the girl's boots as she walked in a muddy puddle. The temperature was cold, but the wind was fast and would not stop.
"I am almost home now, it would warm in there, I hope." Carmen whispered to herself.
She could see her bright red roof in the cloudy fog, and the christmas lights that were on the house, once were bright but now dull.
Her phone vibrated in her pockets of her coat, and she soon pulled it out from her coat. It was a text from her mother.
"Get home soon sweetie. It's late." She spoke as she read the text.
The phone suddenly died out from low battery, so she could not contact her mother back.
"Damn it!" Carmen said angrily as she threw her phone to the ground.
She kept walking, she was almost there. She always enjoyed nature. The birds chirping soothed her and the crinkling of the leaves as she stepped on them made her mood better.
She was finally there and she rang the doorbell which made a very pleasant noise. Her mother, Jane popped out very suddenly and scared Carmen.
"Yay! You're home! I just started making dinner, come in." She emphasized to her daughter.
Jane has been through a lot in her life, her father and her husband dying but she went through it and is the happiest woman alive.
"Mom, I was only gone for a couple hours." Carmen laughed as she came inside and put down her backpack on the couch.
"A couple hours means a lot to a mother." Her mother stated as she hugged her.
"Whatever." Carmen replied while opening a piece of gum.
She walked up to her room, and when she finally got in, she turned on her stereo and went through social medias on her phone.
"That is cute.." She said as she scrolled through instagram.
Someone rang the doorbell, and she ran downstairs to see who it was.
"Hello?" Carmen said to the figure at the door.
"Come with me." The person responded back.
