3. Decide who's telling the story

Whose point of view will you use? Which character is your main narrator? You may decide to use more than one narrator, and though this is trickier to pull off, the variation in voice and perspective can make for a more satisfying read. You might opt for the simplicity of the omniscient narrator, a neutral persona who can see everything that's happening. Also decide whether you'd prefer to tell your story in the first person ("I"), or the third person, ( "he", "she", "they"). Page through some of your favourite novels to find the approach that will best suit your story and writing style.
