He chuckled softly, "Come on Brooke don't hold out on me. What about boys? Anything going on in that department?"
It was strangely never weird to talk about boys to Harry. I'm sure if he wanted to he could have made the situation very awkward but he even helped he with advice on guys as I did the same for him with girls. "This guy named Jackson and I have been on a couple dates. You will never guess who set us up in the first place though!"
"Who?" Harry asked curiously.
"Heath! Isn't that funny? He's been really trying to be my friend lately," I noted and Harry scoffed. "What was that sound you made for?" I asked.
"Come on Brooklyn you know he's probably just looking for a way to get you back. He's trying to play the friend card until you let you defenses down."
I snorted at Harry's commented, "You never really liked Heath did you?"
"May I remind you that I met you the night he broke you heart and cheated on you," He replied softly knowing that was still a sore spot for me. "Just promise me you won't get too involved with him. I don't want to see you get hurt."
The thing was that Heath wasn't the one in danger of hurting me. Harry was the one and the only one who could hurt me. I found it ironic that Harry was warning me of having my heart broken when he was the one that could break it. I sighed not wanting to fight with him. "I promise I won't."
I heard the boys in the background yelling things at each other and laughed. "How are the crew and the boys doing?"
"Really good. Were in a all out war with the crew because of some prank Liam and Niall pulled a couple of days ago. I was fine with it until they turned all my white shirts pink by washing it wrong," He told me clearly a little annoyed by it.
I giggled, "It's all fun and games until they mess with poor Harold's wardrobe isn't it?"
He paused for a second before responding, "Wait, did you just giggle?"
"Yeah I did why?"
"Normally you either laugh or snort. It's just weird hearing you giggle," He stated.
I rolled my eyes even though I knew he couldn't see me. "I like to mix it up a bit sometimes. Keep you on your toes."
He laughed and started to tell me more about some of the things that had happened in the past few days. As I was listening I rested my head against the sterring wheel of my car and accidentally made my car honk, scaring me in the process. "Ah!" I screemed a little too loud.
"Brooklyn? What was that? Are you okay?" Harry's raspy voice asked.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine I'm in my car and I accidentally hit my car horn and it scared me," I explained shaking my head at my stupidity.
"I see," Harry stated laughing at me. "Sometimes I worry about you Brooklyn. You have problems."
"Stop being an asshole Harry," I moaned still embarrased.
"I'm not being an asshole. I'm just stating the truth Cookie," He responded and I could finally hear the happiness that wasn't in his voice at the beginning of the call.
"Whatever," I huffed trying to contain my laughter.
"Don't be sassy Brooklyn."
"Then don't be an asshole," I challenged now laughing. After a couple of seconds Harry was laughing too because of how funny my obnoxious and loud laugh was.
It took us a couple of minutes to calm down but when we did a comfortable silence followed. When the silence was broken it was Harry who spoke, "Brooklyn I have to tell you something."
"Okay what is it?" I asked still coming down from my laughing high.
"I went on a date," He explained quietly.
"Okay," I responded not quite sure how to react. Harry went on dates all the time so why would this be different.
"No I mean like I think I'm going out with someone."
My heart about broke right then and there. Here he didn't want to date me because of the difference, but he was willing to go out with another girl? "Good for you," I said quietly.
"I met her and we started talking and one date lead to another. I didn't want you to find out about it and get mad," He told me cautiously.
"Why would I get mad?" I asked wanting to hear him speak the words of his betrayal. I know I was just being overly dramatic, but why would he say he didn't want to date and then date someone else. Did he not want to be with me so he just lied? Did he just want to get with me and move on? If so why did he still call me so often?
"I thought we.... I mean we were talking about getting together after the tour," He stuttered.
"It's fine Harry. I promise you I don't mind. It's not like it effects our friendship and that's all I really care about at the moment. I just want you to be happy," I replied to him in as calm of a voice as I could.
He sighed, clearly relieved. "Good, I'm glad. I met her a couple weeks back and I didn't want to start anything serious until I talked to you about it."
"Harry I'm not you mom. You don't need to ask me for my permission," I said and he let out a small chuckle. After a moment or two I asked, "So who's the lucky girl?"
"Oh... it's Taylor Swift," He quickly mumbled.
