Chapter Two: Mabel Pines

Days pass by, and it's already the day to be at school. I put on my best outfit, a blue under shirt, pink varsity jacket and tight pants along with black sneakers Soos had me for my birthday. I brush my hair neat and put on a black head band and push my fringes aside than it usually does, falling over my forehead covering my brows.

I look at myself, looking more mature than I usually look.
I smile at myself and grab my bag and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Grunkle Stan cooked bloody pancakes. It's not really blood we put, it's just strawberry syrup dripping the pancakes.

"Morning Grunkle Stan!" I greeted cheerfully as I was.
"Good morning, it's like you're excited aren't you?" He said and put a plate of pancakes in front of me.

"I sure do, in fact I can't wait to go to school already." I said and hurry to eat my breakfast.
"I'll be driving you to school so hurry up." Grunkle Stan said. Since I'm a polite girl, I did as I was told and finish my meal like I'm a beast of hunger.

I hop on the van, as Grunkle Stan sat at the driver seat, driving all the way to school. While on the way, I watch as we pass by the places Wendy and I went to.

It took 20 minutes to get to school, and when we arrived students were already greeting at each other, like they known each other since, it's like I'm the only one who's a nobody here?

"Enjoy your first day of school Pacifica." Grunkle Stan wished. I just gave him a smile as I gulp, holding tight on my backpack. Grunkle Stan drove away, as I was still standing at the front gate, my knees shivering. What happened to my excitement? It just faded away. Now I'm nervous and scared at the same time. What if no one likes me? I'll be a loner forever!

"Hi!" Someone said from behind. I turn around to see a girl, wearing a black undershirt, a checkered skirt, and a blue vest. She wears braces too and had brown hair pushed back with a headband like mine.

"Uh...hi?" I said like I was asking. I was unsure if she was referring to me anyway.
"Your new here aren't you?" She asked me with a very big smile on her face, her braces were shimmering along with her smile.

"Yeah, I'm Pacifica Northwest." I smiled a bit. She then took my hand and shakes it along with her.
"Call me Mabel, welcome to Gravity Falls Academy." She said.

I smiled even wider, I already gained a friend. Mabel toured me around the school, and was surprised we both had the same schedules of classes which made it even more great.

"So your the niece of the guy who runs a souvenir shop? That's awesome!" Mabel said as we head our way to the cafeteria. It's just been a day, but I think Mabel and I already knew each other for long.

"Yeah, but I never thought you will think it's awesome, but I think it is." I said. "Even though I think my Grunkle is weird."

"That's why this place is called Gravity Falls." Mabel said.

We arrived at the cafeteria, where students greeted Mabel one by one. Everyone seems to know Mabel, well she's rich after all, of course she's popular, her parents run Gravity Falls, that's why.

"Why don't we go there," she pointed to the empty table at the end of the cafeteria room. We hurried to that table and sat down as she told me to wait here as she order us our food. I was about to say I'll go order myself, but she stopped me.

"I'll be the one to buy, my treat as my first best friend." She winked and went off before I can say anything.

Wait, did she just say best friend?

I arrived back at the shack, where customers load the place again because of some artifact Soos found backyard. It was stupid but yet I have no choice, since people are fools, they thought it was really from the remains of a monster long dead around Gravity Falls. Silly right?

"There you are!" Greeted Wendy. She was here to witness the stupid artifact though, but found out it was boring though.

"Just go with the flow, at least Grunkle gets sales from it." I say smiling.

"What's up with the creepy smile?" She ask.
"Oh nothing, I just met a friend." I replied.

"Oh, so how was school?" She asked again.
"It was great, although all we did was to introduce ourselves and dismiss, but it was great since my friend Mabel was there with me."

Suddenly, Wendy's eyes went wide.
"Mabel? As in, Mabel Pines??" She asked.

I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, why?" I ask her confused.
"You don't know her?" She asked which is freaking me out already.
"All I know is that her family runs Gravity Falls like she told me." I said.

"Oh,  you know, but you better stay away from them Pacifica." She said.
"Why?" Okay I'm getting more confused.
"Just don't come near her and her family, just don't." Wendy said and walks out of the shack.

What was that just happened??
