Chapter 11 ~ Protective and Pranks

Niall's P.O.V.

Melanie pulls back from Josh and when she looks up, I can see her freeze. I look around at everyone and see that they are all watching Melanie and Trevor. I look back and see that Trevor turn around and starts walking away.

"Trevor. Babe, wait!" Melanie yells as she chases him. "Trevor. Please just stop and talk to me."

"How could you?!" Trevor yells.

"You don't understand-"

"I understand perfectly, Melanie."

"Jus-"

"I flew here a few days ago and stayed at a family friend's house. I was going to surprise you and be your New Year's kiss but I guess you forgot about me." Louis takes a threatening step forward, ready to punch him in the face, but Harry traps him in his arms pulling Louis' body back against his.

"No Trevor, let me explain. Please!" Melanie begs him and she reaches forward to take his hand in hers but he steps back. "All I knew or thought is that you were still in London because of the snow storm. You didn't text me at all these past two or three days so-"

"Shut up, Melanie!" he yells, which causes Melanie to take a step back and a gasp escapes her lips. "What should I have done!? Text you and ruin the surprise?!"

"Tre-"

"I would never cheat on you bec-" Louis struggles against Harry even more.

"What the fuck?! You think I fucking cheated on you!? That kiss meant nothing to me! I didn't even want to but I thought 'what the heck, this won't mean anything to me.' because I lo-"

"Don't say it. Just don't. I can't handle this. I can't do this anymore."

"What? Do what anymore?"

"This. Us. You and me. I can't do it."

"You're breaking up with me-"

"Mel-"

"Let me finish. You're breaking up with me because of a kiss that meant nothing to me." Melanie interrupts. "You're breaking up with me because you think I cheated on you when you don't even know the whole story to."

"Mela-"

"You honestly think that I, Melanie Aria Tomlinson-Styles, cheated on you?"

"Yeah. I do."

"Wow. This is such a fucking fantastic way to start out 2015. Getting dumped. Fucking fantastic." She says as she pushes past him to go to her room.

"Wait, Beautiful." Trevor calls out and I can see Melanie cringe.

"Don't call me that. You don't have that right anymore because you broke up with me."

"Melanie."

"Just leave, don't talk to me, text me, call me, or anything."

Melanie reaches the stairs and takes off her heels before she begins to start up. I turn my head to Liam, Zayn, Harry and Louis and notice that their faces have both anger and sadness. My head turns back to the stairs when there's a loud, choked sob and soon Melanie stumbles, falling forward, thankfully catching herself. Louis and Harry both shout her name when she fell and are now on the stairs next to my sobbing Princess. Harry soon has Melanie in his arms and she looks like a koala with the way she's clinging to Harry. Louis watches them before he turns his focus on Trevor, who's still here. Liam, Zayn and I all look at each other before running to trap an enraged Louis. Liam, being the strongest, captures Louis around the waist, trapping his arms as well. Zayn and I stand in his path in case he, somehow, escapes Liam's hold.
