The clang of metal resonated through the stampede of students as they rushed down the hallways. Blossoming purple bruises played peekaboo along his shoulders, drawing grins from the herd of jocks that had slammed him against the frigid doors. His multitude of textbooks clattered to the filthy tile floor, his glasses tumbling to the ground along with them. A sigh echoed in his chest as he crouched to the ground to retrieve his supplies. He was instead met with a set of calloused hands slipping his books back into his slender palms. Glasses were slid onto his face, drawing a blush from his pale cheeks as the rough thumb brushed his cheek. He tilted his head upwards, shocked to meet a set of flaming golden eyes. "H-h-i.." He stuttered out, jolting backwards. Of course it was him. The school's residential badass, Brett Simmons. King of RHAM high school. Brett took a step forward, a well concealed emotion flickering in the depths of his eyes. "I.. I'm Alexander," he forced out, still entranced by the flames that seemed to dance among his irises. The other boy nodded, and if Alexander hadn't known better, he would've sworn a blush was jaunting down his cheeks. He turned on his heel, the scent of cigarette smoke trailing down the hallway after him as Alexander slowly headed towards his first class, finding it impossible to remove the image of those taunting golden eyes from his mind.
