Nova, a young, crimson, anthropomorphic raccoon was bored. Today wasn't an exciting day for her at all, in fact it was quite awful so far, so she was just hoping for the best but expecting the worst. She felt like crying. Her twin brother, Comet, had passed away this morning, she kept having awful mood swings and she felt like she was being ignored by her friends. Her day so far seemed like her worst until, out of the blue, a mysterious, hooded figure knocked on her door. The short, big-eyed creature's curiosity got the better of her as she struck up a conversation with the person, later finding out that they were a magician.
"Hey kid. I heard you were havin' a pretty 'orrid day, so uh, I decided that maybe ya'd wantcha'ra good surprise." Their voice was creaky, but high-pitched and almost childish-sounding.
"O-okay, I guess. What kinda stuff have you got to offer?" She responded, giving in to her temptation.
"Pretty much anythin' goes. What kinda stuff y'interested in?"
"I'm not sure, let me have a think..." Her words trailed off, as she crossed her arms and thought for a moment, until about half of a minute later, when the silence cut off with her explaining, "I know exactly what I want, and I hope it isn't too far-fetched. I'd like to freeze time for about five minutes. I want a revival potion, if those even exist, so I can bring my brother back to life. The reason why I want to freeze time is because my family will be burying him soon, and I can't let that happen, as I don't want to mess up wherever he might be buried if I don't hurry. I'd also need a bit of time left to calm down, my stress is getting pretty severe, so you couldn't imagine it getting better in a blink of an eye. I hope it isn't too much to ask."
Thry responded with, "Ah, no worries, I can do that, no probs."
With that, a lush-green aura surrounded the person's fingers, and some small, pixel-like objects formed into a small beaker, half-filled with a metallic, turquoise, runny liquid. They gave that and a glass, snowflake-shaped item to Nova. She thanked them, and they vanished into thin air.
"How do I use this...?" She thought, as she observed the pretty snowflake-shaped glass figure. "Aha!" Pressing a button she found on an edge on the inside shape of the snowflake, it started to react. It glowed a pale, cyan shade and everything in the world except for Nova went into a state where they were glowing and had turned into a blue colour. She quickly rushed to her house, sprinting as fast as her puny legs could carry her, and eventually, she reached her house. She pulled the handle, and fortunately, it was unlocked.
She power-walked to her brother, whose corpse was laying on one of the velvet sofas in the living room. She read the intructions as fast as she could and followed them cautiously, in a desperate attempt to bring her twin brother back to life.
Afterwards, she had a few minutes to spare before everything restored, perfect for a moment of stress relief. She headed upstairs in the house and walked across her room and to the balcony. She sat down on the deckchair placed outside next to the door. It was a winter's evening at 7 o'clock, so by now it was dark enough for the infinite amount of stars to be visible in the jet black sky, which was like a huge ribbon, coating whatever might be behind it. The sky was clear of clouds, making the area look even more beautiful. The stars were like sparkling gemstones in a crystal sky. The sight was breathtaking, and could not be described with words. The young raccoon wanted this moment to never end, fearing that there could never be anything as fantastic as what she had seen tonight. She slowly dozed off and entered a world of dreams...
