this is around the middle of a story i hope to write if i ever get the chance. basically what has happened before this point is that Alice and Scarlet, who are 17 years old & in their last year of high school, decide to road trip during spring break, which is 3 weeks for the seniors, as far as they can get around the western side of the United States starting in Los Angeles, where they live. right now, they're in Denver, Colorado. It's only the third day of their spring break and its around 1pm and they're hungry but don't have a lot of money because Alice spent most of it on a car they bought in Nevada.

The story is told in Scarlet's perspective and her thoughts will always be italicized. any and all author's notes from here on out will be in bold. enjoy.

I lay in the back seat with my arms behind my head to act as a pillow. Luckily, I had bought some blankets before Alice, might I add stupidly, bought a freaking car. I'm still mad at her for that. Who buys a freaking car without talking to the other person they're with? Whatever. We were almost out of food and this simply wouldn't do. We needed food.

"Alice, let's go get food." I state blatantly. She shakes her head symbolizing a no. I was frustrated with her. She never listened to me, I thought to myself. I sit up.

"Alice, do you want to starve? We NEED to get food, NOW!" I exclaim. She looked at me with a desperate look on her face, clearly telling me that she was not on board with my idea as of now. I looked back at her, with a pleading face. I was getting quite hungry but I didn't want to eat any of the food yet, just in case the situation in which Alice said no, and here we are.

She didn't give in, at all. No, instead she laid her head back and fell asleep. I let out an exasperated sigh along with yawn. I guess I was tired, but I needed to get us food or we'll die. I didn't know what to do, go against what Alice said or do what Alice said. I'm to tired to think because we were up all night driving in the car she bought without my opinion.

I give in, I don't buy food, I don't leave the trunk of this car, instead I follow in Alice's footsteps like usual. I fall asleep.
