----------------------------------------------------
It was a cool summer night, a nice time to stroll around a new neighborhood. Tall condominiums surrounding the streets with plenty of cafes where people young and not so old woud sit and chat til the wee hours ofthe night. Convenience stores on every block are strategically situated with bright lights with budget friendly ice cream treats which calls every person to buy a big ice cream cone. Flocks of teenagers would huddle and laugh while savoring the flavors of these sweet cool treats.
A new addition to the town is walking by the street and getting the feel of being in the city. Wearing a black shirt with a print Just Do it, jeans, rubber shoes and a baseball cap, this person tries to blend in, looking at what kids with similar age groups are doing. After all, nobody wants to be the odd one but for passion in sports, it was a personal choice to accept being quite diferent from the rest.
With a quick glance on the other side of the street and a sigh of excitement, this person quickly ran to the side of a basketball court where a bicycle very similar to what this person has at home happily squat and stare at the details of the bike.
In about twenty seconds, the sound of a bouncing basketball on the court will stop followed by quiet steps of a pair of rubber shoes against the cement floor coming closer to the small person staring at the bike well oiled gears.
"Excuse me?" A gruntled voice of a guy suddenly bolted the stranger to stand and slowly glance on the direction of the voice. The guy is about sixteen years old and very tall about six feet with athletic physique. He was standing with a basketball on his side. The new kid just stood there silently but met his gaze, as if sizing the threat in front.
"What are you doing to my bike?" he asked again.
No answer but a quick shrug and fast steps on the opposite direction was the response of another, but the tall guy was quick to grab a shoulder. The next events happened so quickly that the smaller person quickly grab his arm, roll backwards and use the right leg as a leverage on his stomach to throw the six foot guy on the floor. A loud thud was heard as the back of the guy slams on the grass. Surprised, the smaller fellow began to run. A few gaits were stopped by a strong pull
from the back that sent the person flying to the wire fence of the court.
The tall guy walks toward his opponent with breathing so heavy like a bull. His opponent stood up with force and agility that startled him... and another thing...
"Yy You..You're a girl?" he muttered surprised and stepped back.
She noticed that her baseball cap flew off her head. Her bob short hair fell in the side of her face. "Yes, I'm a girl" she said with grimace on her face as she approach him. She's really angry now. "You want trouble?, I'll show you trouble" she said seething with anger.
"Look miss" he said with care and a hint of concern, raising both arms in surrender. Her eyes widened in disbelief. "Don't you call me miss"
"Sorry uhmn lesbian person" he said almost inaudible. Her nerve snap and charge after him "I don't want any trouble, you should have just answered my ques.." He didn't have a chance to answer because he' s dodging all the punches coming his way. "She's fast" he thought to himself.
