Lauren Jauregui was never really into boy bands or their cookie-cutter music. She hated mainstream media and therefore steered clear of the newest teen heartthrobs. Not that she herself was a teen, nope, she was only eight.

She didn't have crushes on famous athletes, or the main characters on the TV shows she enjoyed watching. The boys in her class were idiots as far as she was concerned, so that pretty much ruled out everyone. Or so she thought, because Lauren ended up having her first crush. Except, it was on her babysitter: Camila Cabello. Her parents were going out again for some party at yet another rich family's house.

They had told her on numerous occasions that she wasn't allowed to attend until she was older and could 'control that mouth of hers'. She didn't really understand what they meant, she only spoke the truth. Yeah, she hurt a lot of people's feelings, but to her that was just how life was. Anyway, since her parents were leaving for the night, that meant that Camila was babysitting.

It had been a month since that first day when she had the absolute best time torturing Camila. Pretending to choke to death on the floor was a new one and the fact that its effect turned out so well pretty much ensured that she'd try that one out again. She had been jumping on the bed until she heard her mother's sharp voice yelling for her to stop.

Her feet slammed on the floor with a loud thud that shook the lamp on her dresser from how hard she had jumped down. A quick glance at her alarm clock said that she had nearly fifteen minutes before Camila would be coming over from her house down the street. Sometimes she got there early, probably because Lauren's house was such a short distance away, but sometimes Lauren hoped it was because she couldn't wait to see her.

Shaking her head of those thoughts, she walked over to her dresser and yanked the top drawer open with a light tug. After what felt like hours, she pulled out her favorite shirt and the skirt that Camila said looked fantastic one day last week. Within moments, she was dressed and running toward the front door as soon as the doorbell rang. Her mother's voice yelled from the kitchen, "Lauren, don't you dare open that door! Wait for me to get there!"

The whole yelling thing wasn't particularly new as of recently, but Lauren couldn't but help but be annoyed at her mother. She hated being told what to do, yet as life works; she was only eight and had to be 'ruled' by someone. Her restless feet slowed to a halt at the front door and she lifted up the curtain that covered the windows on each side of the door. Her emerald eyes met ones that constantly reminded her of chocolate and coffee.

A bright smile lit up Camila's excited face and she raised an eyebrow when Lauren had yet to open the door.

With a sigh, Lauren shrugged and opened the door anyway without finding it in herself to care that her mother would be pissed.

Camila walked inside and immediately scooped Lauren into her arms and threw the small girl over her shoulder as she turned and locked the door behind herself.

"Hey, Lolo! Where's your mommy, kid?" Camila asked with a little laugh as Lauren began struggling playfully in the hold she was in. Soon enough, a small pinch was felt on her back and Camila jumped in surprise.

"How many times have I told you not to bite me, monster?" The Cuban-Mexican asked with a little laugh as she gently threw Lauren onto the couch. The green eyed girl bounced twice and broke into a fit of giggles.

"Clara!?" Camila called toward the kitchen where she was almost positive Lauren's mother would be.

"Camila? Who let you in?" Clara called back and leaned her head out of the kitchen to look into the living room.

"Lauren let me in, why?" Camila asked. She made her way back to the kitchen with Lauren hot on her heels and gripping onto the back of her shirt.

"Damn it, Lauren! You don't listen!" Mrs. Jauregui stepped around Camila and snatched Lauren by the front of her shirt. The small girl gulped, she knew what was coming next and tensed for the slap waiting to happen. But it didn't come, and she opened her eyes to see that Camila had picked her up right before the hit could land. When Mrs. Jauregui seemed to have remembered that Camila wasn't family and she didn't usually see this side of the brunette woman, she regained control.
