today was shitty,

like most days,

leah thought her day over

as she walked to the bus stop;

a broken umbrella in her hand,

her feet squelched as her rain soaked socks rubbed against the inside of her leather shoes,

her hands pruned from her prolonged time in the rain;

i mean,

today could have been better.

the bus stop was usually empty,

apart from the families

and the kids that would fill it up after school days.

she was always there first.

watching the crowd build up

and fall apart as soon as the bus came.

as she slipped under the red and grey shelter,

she looked up to meet someone just as soaked

as she was.

he looked up from his fingers with a sniffle and stared at leah's attentive gaze.

his brown eyes widened.

she smiled and sat on the seats available,

looking down at the concrete road that was hit with forceful raindrops.

"come here often?"
